Offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy said Edwards-Helaire (knee) "looked great" in his return to practice Wednesday, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.
Edwards-Helaire was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, with the transaction opening a 21-day-window for the Chiefs to restore the running back to their active roster or leave him on IR for the remainder of the season. Based on Bieniemy's comments, Edwards-Helaire is headed in the right direction in advance of Sunday's game against the Raiders, though the Chiefs haven't indicated whether he'll be activated for Week 10. How Edwards-Helaire looks in practices Thursday and Friday may ultimately influence if he's brought back this weekend or if the Chiefs opt to wait until Week 11 against the Cowboys to add him to the 53-man roster.
