Thunder's Aday Mara: Doesn't suit up Tuesday

Mara (undisclosed) didn't play in Tuesday's 103-69 Salt Lake City Summer League loss to the Jazz.

Mara logged 23 minutes in Monday's loss to the Hawks, so it's possible he was simply given a rest day on the second leg of this back-to-back set. The big man's next chance to play will come in the Thunder's Las Vegas Summer League opener against the Lakers on Friday.

  • Bennett Stirtz PG | OKC

    Thunder's Bennett Stirtz: Inactive Tuesday

Stirtz (undisclosed) didn't play in Tuesday's 103-69 Salt Lake City Summer League loss to the Jazz.

Stirtz logged 29 minutes in the front end of this back-to-back set, so it's possible he was simply given a rest day Tuesday. His next opportunity to suit up will come when the Thunder open the Las Vegas Summer League against the Lakers on Friday.

  • Tamar Bates SG | UTA

Jazz's Tamar Bates: Doesn't appear in Tuesday's win

Bates (foot) didn't play in Tuesday's 103-69 Salt Lake City Summer League win over the Thunder.

Bates didn't see any action in the Salt Lake City Summer League finale while managing left foot soreness. With the action shifting to the Las Vegas Summer League, the Missouri product's next chance to play will come Thursday against the Wizards.

  • Otega Oweh SG | OKC

Thunder's Otega Oweh: Doesn't play Tuesday

Oweh didn't play in Tuesday's 103-69 Salt Lake City Summer League loss to the Jazz and was seen with a walking boot on his left leg, Justin Martinez of The Oklahoman reports.

It's unclear exactly what injury Oweh is dealing with, though he was held out of the second leg of this back-to-back set. His next opportunity to play will come in the Thunder's Las Vegas Summer League opener against the Lakers on Friday.

  • Josh Dix SG | OKC

Thunder's Josh Dix: Scores 16 points in SL loss

Dix tallied 16 points (6-10 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block in 24 minutes during Tuesday's 103-69 Salt Lake City Summer League loss to the Jazz.

Dix delivered an efficient performance and tied for the game high in points. The 22-year-old wing also matched the game-high mark in triples made. He signed a two-way deal with the Thunder in late June and figures to see most of his playing time with their G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue, in the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Thunder's Brooks Barnhizer: Double-doubles in SL loss

Barnhizer logged 15 points (5-12 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist and one steal across 21 minutes in Tuesday's 103-69 Salt Lake City Summer League loss to the Jazz.

Barnhizer got off to a strong start, scoring 13 points on 4-of-4 shooting from the field in the first half. However, he struggled mightily in the second half, during which he shot just 1-for-8 from the floor. The 24-year-old forward still finished as the Thunder's third-leading scorer and also led the team in rebounds.

  • Hawks' Henri Veesaar: Solid all-around effort in SL win

Veesaar supplied 11 points (4-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block across 24 minutes in Tuesday's 96-82 Salt Lake City Summer League win over the Grizzlies.

Veesaar did a little bit of everything in the second leg of this back-to-back set, scoring in double figures for the first time this summer. The big man out of North Carolina was one of six Hawks players to post double-digit points, and he also chipped in on the defensive end with a steal and a block. He figures to provide center depth in his rookie campaign, as he's buried behind Onyeka Okongwu, Jock Landale (ankle), Mouhamed Gueye and fellow rookie Zuby Ejiofor (rest).

  • Grizzlies' D'Angelo Russell: Traded to Memphis

The Wizards traded Russell, a second-round pick and a second-round pick swap to the Grizzlies on Tuesday as part of a six-team deal, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

Russell picked up his $6 million player option June 19 after not appearing in a game for the Wizards following his trade from the Mavericks at the deadline. Prior to the trade, the guard wasn't a consistent member of Dallas' rotation, averaging 10.2 points, 4.0 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 19.0 minutes per contest across 26 appearances (three starts). Russell will look to get a fresh start in Memphis, though it remains to be seen whether he'll carve out a significant role with his new team.

  • Wizards' Khris Middleton: Returning to Washington

Middleton agreed to a three-year, $17.6 million contract with the Wizards on Tuesday via a sign-and-trade with the Mavericks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

Dallas is sending Middleton to the Wizards as part of a six-team deal, per Charania. The veteran forward was traded from Milwaukee to Washington in February 2025 before being sent to the Mavericks last February. Now, he'll return to Washington, where he figures to serve as a veteran presence while providing frontcourt depth behind AJ Dybantsa and Anthony Davis (finger). Over 63 regular-season outings (50 starts) between the Mavericks and Wizards last season, Middleton averaged 10.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 0.7 steals in 22.8 minutes per contest.

  • Guerschon Yabusele: Heading overseas

Yabusele agreed to a three-year deal with Panathinaikos in Greece on Tuesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Yabusele will head overseas after spending the last two seasons in the NBA. He saw an inconsistent role with the Knicks last season before being traded to the Bulls, finishing the campaign with averages of 5.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 15.0 minutes per game across 67 regular-season appearances (19 starts).
