Matas Buzelis SF | CHI
Bulls' Matas Buzelis: To have more freedom offensively
Buzelis expects to have more offensive freedom this season and said he focused on becoming more physical and attacking the rim during the offseason, Joel Lorenzi of The Athletic reports.
The 21-year-old felt he attempted too many three-pointers last season, when 51.4 percent of his field-goal attempts came from beyond the arc, and he wants to incorporate more mid-range opportunities into his game. Buzelis also prioritized adding weight and strength, which could help him play through contact as he looks to build upon his 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 blocks per game from the 2025-26 regular season.

Zion Williamson PF | NO
Pelicans' Zion Williamson: Reports to camp in great shape
Williamson entered training camp in "impeccable condition," according to Pelicans executive Joe Dumars, who challenged the forward to prioritize his conditioning this offseason, according to New Orleans reporter Shamit Dua.
Dumars said Williamson accomplished that goal and has also been encouraged to expand his offensive game by taking more jumpers. Williamson is listed at 277 pounds, down from 284 last season, and improving his conditioning and perimeter game could help him remain productive while handling a significant role for New Orleans.

Jordan Walsh SG | BOS
Celtics' Jordan Walsh: Looking to take step forward
Walsh is learning from Paul George this offseason on how to expand his offensive game, per Bobby Krivitsky of Forbes.com.
After making a career-high 25 starts last regular season, Walsh is looking to take another step forward in 2026-27. He's in contention for a starting spot on the wing with Hugo Gonzalez, Baylor Scheierman and Sam Hauser during training camp, which will remain a battle to monitor this fall.

Draymond Green PF | GS
Warriors' Draymond Green: Given green light from deep
Head coach Steve Kerr wants Green to shoot more open three-pointers this season, per Danny Emerman of SFStandard.com.
Green already took a career-high 4.6 three-point attempts per game last regular season, and it sounds like there's room for growth in that area. The veteran forward is worthy of a late-round pick in most fantasy leagues this fall, but he'll likely need the playmaking threats of Jimmy Butler (knee) and Kristaps Porzingis (illness) to be in the lineup in order to maximize his efficiency.

Gradey Dick SG | LAC
Clippers' Gradey Dick: Could benefit from Ingram injury
Dick could see increased opportunities to begin the season while Brandon Ingram recovers from a partially torn Achilles and right heel surgery.
Dick arrived in Los Angeles alongside Ingram in the Kawhi Leonard trade and will compete for minutes on a Clippers team currently thin on the wing. Ingram's absence gives Dick an opportunity to earn a consistent rotation role, though he'll still face competition for playing time.

Kobe Sanders PF | LAC
Clippers' Kobe Sanders: Opportunity increases
Sanders could have a clearer path to playing time early in the season with Brandon Ingram unavailable for the opener due to his recovery from a partially torn Achilles and right heel surgery
Los Angeles is already dealing with several injuries on the wing, and Sanders is expected to compete for meaningful minutes off the bench. Ingram's absence should give Sanders an opportunity to establish himself in the Clippers' rotation during the opening portion of the campaign. During the 2025-26 regular season, Sanders averaged 7.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

Max Strus SG | LAC
Clippers' Max Strus: Expanded role incoming?
Strus could be in line for an expanded role to begin the season with Brandon Ingram sidelined while recovering from a partially torn Achilles and right heel surgery.
The Clippers haven't established a timetable for Ingram's return, opening additional minutes on the wing for Strus. The veteran's perimeter shooting makes him one of the more logical options to absorb some of Ingram's playing time while Los Angeles waits for its new forward to return.

Amen Thompson SG | HOU
Rockets' Amen Thompson: Looking to improve shot ahead of 2026-27
Thompson has been working on his free throws and jumper with shooting coach Chip Engelland this offseason, and head coach Ime Udoka said his growth will initially focus on increasing his efficiency from the midrange, Varun Shankar of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Thompson turned in a career year in 2025-26 before landing a five-year, $208 million extension earlier this month. The 23-year-old averaged 18.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.6 blocks across 37.4 minutes per game in 79 regular-season appearances last year. However, his three-point shot remained a weakness, as he knocked down just 21.6 percent of his limited attempts from downtown. The 2023 No. 4 overall pick did shoot a career-best 77.9 percent from the free-throw line last season, though there's still room for improvement. Even if Thompson never develops into an above-average shooter, he's a well-rounded player who has already made strides as a playmaker. While his playmaking skills may be less utilized now that Fred VanVleet is back in the mix, Thompson should continue to play a key role while working to expand his offensive game.

Michael Porter Jr. SF | BKN
Nets' Michael Porter: Wants to improve off ball
Porter said his goal this season is to become the best off-ball player in the NBA, Sharif Phillips-Keaton of USA Today reports.
The forward believes his cutting and catch-and-shoot ability give him the tools to reach that level, though he emphasized that conditioning will be an important factor. Porter should have plenty of opportunities to showcase those skills as he looks to have another significant role with Brooklyn.

Alperen Sengun C | HOU
Rockets' Alperen Sengun: Working on shot ahead of 2026-27 season
Sengun has been working with shooting coach Chip Engelland on his free throws and three-point shot, and the big man wants to make corner threes a bigger part of his game, Varun Shankar of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Sengun is coming off another impressive year, averaging 20.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks in 33.3 minutes per game across 72 regular-season appearances in 2025-26. However, the star center shot just 69.1 percent from the charity stripe and 30.5 percent from downtown. He's been focused on improving in those areas this offseason, and an uptick in efficiency would be a significant step toward becoming a more well-rounded player.
