The White Sox promoted Gilbert from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.

Gilbert will make his first appearance with the big-league club since early June after being sidelined for almost two months with a shoulder injury. Over 20 games in Charlotte, the southpaw owns a 5-2 record, 4.64 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 31:10 K:BB in 33 innings this season. Chicago placed Tyler Schweitzer on paternity leave to create room for Gilbert on the active roster.
