Buxton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.
Buxton is 0-for-12 with seven strikeouts in three games since he returned from the injured list Thursday, so he'll receive a breather for the series finale versus Detroit. Edouard Julien will serve as the designated hitter while Kyle Farmer receives the start at second base Sunday.
