Fulmer pitched 1.1 scoreless innings to record the save in Tuesday's win over the Cardinals. He allowed one hit and struck out one.
Fulmer was called on to slow down the Cardinals in the bottom of the eighth and allowed two inherited runners to score on a Nolan Arenado double. However, the righty bounced back to strike out Yadier Molina, then cruised through the ninth inning to record his eighth save of the season in Detroit's 4-3 win. The 2016 Rookie of the Year has settled in nicely as a reliever this season after struggling mightily as a starter in 2020, albeit in just 10 games. Fulmer should continue to see save opportunities for the Tigers along with Gregory Soto from the left side.
