Tovar is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Tovar started the previous three contests and will hit the bench Sunday after going 3-for-8 with a walk, a solo homer and two additional runs scored during that span. Cole Carrigg will move in to play shortstop in the series finale while Zac Veen picks up a start in the outfield.
