Tovar isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against San Diego.
Tovar will pick up a day off Tuesday after going 8-for-25 (.320) with a homer and seven runs scored through his first 10 games in September. Cole Carrigg will move to shortstop as a result while Zac Veen, Jake McCarthy and Troy Johnston start across the outfield.
