Colorado designated Julien for assignment on Tuesday, per Kyle Newman of The Denver Post.
With Julien slowly losing out on playing time, the Rockies decided to DFA the 27-year-old. The left-handed-hitting Julien batted just .208/.322/.292 with three home runs and 20 RBI in 276 plate appearances this season. The Rockies recalled Zac Veen to replace Julien on the active roster. After appearing in just 88 games this campaign for Colorado, Julien could be on the move to another organization.
