Nimmo was diagnosed Monday with a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder and could require a stint on the injured list, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Nimmo suffered the shoulder injury during a 3-2 win over Toronto on Sunday, when he collided with the outfield wall while securing the game's final out. The Rangers held Nimmo out of the lineup for Monday's series opener in Cleveland while he awaited the results of his medical tests, which revealed the shoulder sprain. Manager Skip Schumaker said that while a trip to the IL is a possibility for Nimmo, the team won't make a final decision until sending him in for more imaging Tuesday.
