Manager Rob Thomson said Hays will be an everyday player for the Phillies, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Thomson went on to mention that Brandon Marsh and Johan Rojas will split work in center field, which indicates that Hays is set to take over an everyday role in left field. Hays was initially expected to split work with lefty-hitting Brandon Marsh in left but the Phillies won't limit Hays to a platoon role. The former Oriole has a .255/.316/.395 slash line with three homers, 18 runs scored and 14 RBI in 175 plate appearances this season.
