Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns said Wednesday at his end-of-season media session that Mauricio's (knee) rehab has gone slower than expected and the 23-year-old has yet to begin baseball activities, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.
Maurico underwent surgery last December to repair a torn right ACL and then required an additional operation in August to remove scar tissue from the same knee. The Mets had said following the latter surgery that Mauricio was expected to be ready for the start of spring training, but it's unclear whether that's still realistic.
