Baty is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.
Baty will hit the bench Sunday after he made starts at three different infield positions in the Mets' previous three games. The 26-year-old doesn't have a clear path to steady playing time at any one position, but his ability to play all over the infield as well as both corner-outfield spots should allow him to continue seeing at least semi-regular at-bats versus right-handed pitching.
