Fairchild cleared waivers Friday and was outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma.
The veteran outfielder will have the option to decline the assignment and elect free agency after he was DFA'd by Seattle on Tuesday. Fairchild appeared in one game for the team as a pinch runner last weekend against the Twins. In 12 games with Tacoma, he slashed .262/.415/.643 with three homers, six RBI, 12 runs scored, two stolen bases and a 7:11 BB:K.
