Gurriel (hamstring) is batting third as the designated hitter Tuesday against the Rockies, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
The 30-year-old sat out Monday's contest after he suffered a hamstring injury Sunday, but he'll rejoin the starting nine after missing just one game. Gurriel is off to a slow start in August and has gone 7-for-27 with a double and four walks through eight games.
