Atlanta placed Thomas on the 10-day injured list Friday with a left intercostal strain.
Thomas suffered the injury prior to Thursday's game against the Rays. The injury is expected to sideline Thomas for one month, but he will visit a doctor Sunday to see if there's anything he can do to speed up the recovery, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
