Diaz (hand) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Diaz will be held out of the starting nine for the third game in a row while he manages a hand injury. Cesar Salazar will get the nod behind the plate in place of Diaz, who can be considered day-to-day heading into the Astros' weekend series with the Angels.
