Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Elevates play against New Orleans
Tucker took 12 carries for 42 yards and a touchdown without being targeted as a receiver in Sunday's 23-3 win over the Saints.
Tucker saw a nearly even split in carries with fill-in starter Rachaad White (13-35-0), but it was the latter who produced the favorable fantasy score this time around. The 23-year-old Tucker was limited to just two touches in last week's loss to Detroit, so Sunday's outburst comes as a pleasant surprise for those in deeper formats who rolled the dice on Tampa Bay's third-string RB. Tucker has scored twice in the four games sans starter Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder), but he managed just seven total rushing yards in the two contests he failed to hit pay dirt. It probably isn't wise to add Tucker following Sunday's strong showing with the Buccaneers on a bye in Week 9 coupled with the potential for Irving to return to the lineup against the Patriots on Nov. 9.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Plays minor role Monday
Tucker rushed once for four yards and secured his only target for two yards in the Buccaneers' 24-9 loss to the Lions on Monday night.
Bucky Irving (shoulder/foot) sat out a third consecutive game, but Tucker logged only seven snaps on offense, his lowest tally in the last three games. Tucker had posted a season-best 6-25-1 rushing line in Week 6, and game script could have certainly played a part in his downturn versus Detroit. Irving is already ruled out for the Week 8 road matchup against the Saints, so Tucker will have another chance to make his presence known as a complementary option behind Rachaad White.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Scores first TD in elevated role
Tucker took six carries for 25 yards and a touchdown and was not targeted as a receiver in Sunday's 30-19 win over San Francisco.
Tucker made his mark on the box score when he took a nine-yard scamper for an easy touchdown in Sunday's victory. Rachaad White (17-6-1) made the most of Bucky Irving's (foot/shoulder) second missed game of the season, producing the superior fantasy line in the process. Even if Irving remains sidelined in Week 7, Tucker won't check in any higher than second on Tampa Bay's depth chart against the Lions next Monday.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Does little with six touches
Tucker rushed three times for three yards and brought in all three targets for minus-4 yards in the Buccaneers' 38-35 win over the Seahawks on Sunday.
The expanded role as Sunday's No. 2 back afforded to Tucker due to Bucky Irving's (foot/shoulder) absence didn't end up netting much opportunity for the speedy third-year pro, who logged a modest 13 snaps from scrimmage (21 percent). Tucker didn't find any room to operate when he did have the ball in his hands, making it a completely non-descript day from a fantasy standpoint. Irving is expected to remain out for Sunday's Week 6 home showdown against the 49ers, however, so Tucker should have another opportunity to spell interim lead back Rachaad White on occasion during that contest.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Set for first touch since Week 1
Tucker and Rachaad White will pace the Buccaneers backfield Sunday in Seattle after Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder) was ruled out for the contest, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
The tandem may be called upon Week 6 versus the 49ers, too, as Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reported earlier Friday that Irving is in danger of missing a second game due to a right foot sprain and a shoulder injury. After Irving departed a Week 14 matchup with the Raiders due to injury last season, Tucker was outpaced by White by a significant margin in both snap share (75-19) and touches (19-3). Whether or not a similar breakdown occurs Sunday remains to be seen.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Three returns in Week 4 loss
Tucker returned three kickoffs for 54 yards in the Buccaneers' 31-25 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
Tucker once again was left out of the offense entirely, but he still had three opportunities with the ball in his hands thanks to his role as primary kickoff returner. Tucker has just one carry through four games, but he's accumulated 285 yards on 12 kickoff returns, leaving him 125 yards and three runbacks short of his numbers in those categories across 17 regular-season games in 2024.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Solid on five returns Week 3
Tucker did not see any snaps from scrimmage but returned five kickoffs for 124 yards during the Buccaneers' 29-27 win over the Jets in Week 3.
Sunday's interconference victory marked the first time this season Tucker didn't see the field for any snaps on offense. However, he did have the ball in his hands on five of his eight special-teams snaps and delivered a season-high 124 kickoff-return yards. Tucker appears relegated to a virtually non-existent No. 3 running back role for the time being, but the explosiveness he often demonstrates in his special-teams role -- not to mention some of his past body of work as a running back -- would make him an intriguing fantasy option were injuries to strike Bucky Irving or Rachaad White.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: One kickoff return Monday
Tucker played just one snap on offense in Monday night's 20-19 win over the Texans and did not log a touch, but he returned one kickoff for 26 yards.
Despite training camp talk of having Tucker more consistently involved on offense this season, the third-year back has played just a single snap from scrimmage in each of the first two games. However, the speedy Syracuse product has recorded four total kickoff returns through two games and averaged a solid 26.8 yards on those runbacks. Nevertheless, reserve receiver Kameron Johnson was used on two of three total kickoff returns Monday night, which is at least worth noting heading into a Week 3 home matchup against the Jets.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Minimal role on offense in win
Tucker rushed once for two yards and returned three kickoffs for 81 yards in the Buccaneers' 23-20 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
Tucker logged a scant two snaps on offense, 12 fewer than No. 2 back Rachaad White. The speedy third-year back came into the season with expectations of an expanded role following a solid training camp and preseason, but there was no sign of such a boost in the opener. Tucker did put in some solid work on kickoff returns, which appear to be his surest path to touches for the time being.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Good to go Sunday
Tucker (hand) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Falcons.
Tucker practiced in full all week and should be fine for his RB3 role in the Tampa Bay backfield. Rachaad White dealt with a groin issue earlier in the preseason but wasn't even listed on the injury report this week and has been practicing without limitations for the last couple weeks, leaving Tucker behind both Bucky Irving and White to open the season. Tucker would likely need an injury to one of the two in order to find his way into meaningful playing time and touches.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Little with four touches Saturday
Tucker rushed three times for two yards and brought in his only target for one yard in the Buccaneers' 23-19 preseason loss to the Bills on Saturday night.
Tucker was the first running back in for the Buccaneers and played on the first two series. The speedy Syracuse product is expected to see a larger role this coming season thanks to his explosiveness, but Tucker still profiles as the No. 3 running back whenever both Bucky Irving and Rachaad White (groin) are healthy. However, if White's injury lingers into Week 1, Tucker could find himself in a robust role for that Sept. 7 road matchup against the Falcons.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Minimal impact in preseason win
Tucker rushed the ball four times for six yards in Saturday's 17-14 preseason win over the Steelers. He added two receptions on four targets for 11 yards.
Bucky Irving handled all the running back touches on Tampa Bay's first three offensive drives before Tucker relieved him. Tucker had the chance to impress with Rachaad White (groin) sidelined, though he found little room to run with his longest gain going for only six yards. Tucker will begin the season as either the second or third running back on the depth chart, depending on White's availability.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Stands out in preseason win
Tucker rushed 13 times for 50 yards and a touchdown and brought in his only target for no gain in the Buccaneers' 29-7 preseason win over the Titans on Saturday night.
Tucker logged his first carry with 8:14 remaining in the first quarter on the Buccaneers' second possession, one he'd cap off with an impressive two-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second quarter. That score was preceded by a 23-yard scamper that served as Tampa Bay's longest run of the night, and with White having suffered a groin injury in the contest, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports Tucker could be setting himself up for more touches due both to the opportunity that development could create and his own talent. "Sean brings us another explosive runner," said head coach Todd Bowles. "He's a game-breaker for us. He's got very good contact balance, he can break a lot of tackles, and he can naturally find holes. He has great vision, and every opportunity he's gotten, he's shown. Like I keep telling the guys on offense, we've got to give him the ball more."
