Panthers' Nic Scourton: Looking good for Week 1
Scourton (chest) was not listed on the Panthers' injury report Wednesday.
Scourton recovered quickly after suffering a collapsed lung on Aug. 16, and it seems like he'll be available for Carolina in Week 1. He figures to play a rotational role on the edge in 2025, though his recent injury combined with the fact he's a rookie could keep his snap count low to start the year.

Panthers' Nic Scourton: Resumes practicing
Scourton (chest) returned to practice Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Scourton suffered a collapsed lung Aug. 16 and was considered week-to-week at the time. However, he returned to practice fairly quickly and received around 50 percent of the reps. While that's a positive sign for his Week 1 availability against Jacksonville, it will be worth monitoring his practice participation in the coming week.

Panthers' Nic Scourton: Has collapsed lung
Scourton (chest) suffered a collapsed lung during Thursday's joint practice with the Texans, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
The injury initially presented as heat exhaustion, but further tests revealed a more serious issue, which led to Scourton being taken to a local hospital. He was unable to travel with the team to Houston on Friday, but the good news was that he was cleared to be discharged from the hospital before returning to Charlotte. Scourton is considered week-to-week with the injury, which puts him in jeopardy of missing the Panthers' regular-season opener against the Jaguars on Sunday, Sept. 7.

Panthers' Nic Scourton: Likely to sit Saturday
Scourton (illness) is not expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Texans, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Scourton isn't in line to play Saturday due to heat-related symptoms. The rookie second-rounder was able to overcome a hamstring injury to play in the Panthers' preseason opener against the Browns, when he played 17 snaps (16 on defense, one on special teams) while recording two total tackles, including a sack. Scourton should have enough to time to recover to be available for the Panthers' preseason finale against the Steelers on Thursday.
