Banks will once again be subject to waivers before becoming a free agent. The linebacker will likely focus on returning to full health before potentially testing the waters with another team in 2026.

Titans' Shad Banks: Reverts to injured reserve
Banks (undisclosed) reverted to the Titans' injured reserve Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The move to IR is a result of Banks clearing through waivers after being let go by the Titans on Thursday with an injury designation. He'll be forced to miss the entire 2026 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with Tennessee.

The Titans waived/injured Banks (undisclosed) on Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Banks will be subject to waivers and will revert to the Titans' injured reserve for the entirety of the 2026 season if he goes unclaimed. In such a scenario, the only way the linebacker would be able to play in 2026 is if he subsequently reached an injury settlement with the team.
