Hand is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Commanders due to a groin injury.
Hand went to the locker room in the first half after sustaining a groin injury on defense, and he will be evaluated by medical staff to determine whether he can return to Sunday's game. With Naquan Jones (coach's decision) inactive, Scott Matlock should see a significant increase in snaps at defensive end opposite Otito Ogbonnia for as long as Hand is out of the game.

Hand signed a one-year contract with the Chargers on Thursday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Hand is coming off a career year, having suited up for all 17 regular-season games with the Dolphins in 2024. He tallied 31 tackles (20 solo), including 1.0 sacks, one pass defense, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in that span. Now, he'll get a chance to compete for additional first-team reps along a Los Angeles defensive line that parted ways with Joey Bosa to begin the offseason.

Dolphins' Da'Shawn Hand: Career-high 31 tackles in 2024
Hand played in all 17 regular-season games in 2024 and finished with 31 tackles (20 solo), including 1.0 sacks, one pass defense, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Hand spent most of the 2024 season in a rotational role at defensive end behind starters Calais Campbell and Zach Sieler. Hand registered career highs in defensive snaps (532) and total tackles (31) and was able to play in every single regular-season game. The 2018 fourth-round pick will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, and he could look to join an organization that can offer him a bigger role with the first-team defense.

Titans' Da'Shawn Hand: Moves to IR
Hand (quadriceps) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Hand's injury being of the season-ending variety was reported earlier Tuesday, making his move to IR a formality. The 26-year-old will need surgery to repair the torn quadriceps he suffered on just his second play of the season. Hand will now turn his focus to being ready in 2023, while Kevin Strong and a likely practice squad call up, or new signee, will be looking at extra opportunities this season.
