Trail Blazers' DJ Steward: Doesn't play Friday
Steward (hamstring) did not play in Friday's 83-79 Summer League loss to the Jazz.
Steward will end up missing the Trail Blazers' final three Summer League games while recovering from a left hamstring strain. The lack of playing time will make it hard for the Baylor product to catch on with an NBA team for training camp in September. Steward spent the past season overseas with Dolomiti Energia Trento in the Italian LBA, and he could return to the club for the 2026-27 campaign.

Trail Blazers' DJ Steward: Leading scorer for Portland
Steward registered 21 points (8-18 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block over 25 minutes in Friday's 81-79 Summer League loss to the Suns.
Steward kept the Trail Blazers in the game late with 11 of his team-high 21 points coming in the fourth quarter, and all three of his three-pointers came in the final frame. The Duke product has played in the G League since entering the NBA in 2021, but a strong performance in the Summer League would give Steward some momentum toward earning a roster spot on the Trail Blazers for the 2026-27 season.

Lakers' DJ Steward: Plays well Saturday
Steward logged 20 points (7-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 5-5 FT) with six assists, two rebounds and one steal across 27 minutes in Saturday's 89-84 Summer League loss to the Warriors.
Steward, who has four years of G League experience, had 14 of his point by halftime. Steward was a featured player for the Memphis Hustle in 2024-25, posting averages of 19.1 points and 4.8 assists. He'll be hoping that a strong showing during the Summer League will net him a training camp invitation.

Bulls' DJ Steward: Inks two-way deal with Chicago
Steward agreed to a two-way contract with the Bulls on Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Steward excelled for the Bulls during the Las Vegas Summer League. He averaged 19.3 points across five outings, including a 37-point effort against the Hawks on Friday. After going undrafted out of Duke in 2021, Steward spent his first three seasons in the G League, but he'll get the chance to make his NBA debut in 2024-25 if he remains under contract with the Bulls by the time the season begins.

Steward spent last season with the Stockton Kings of the G League and played with the Celtics throughout the preseason. However, he will spend the 2023-24 campaign with the Celtics' G League affiliate, the Maine Celtics.

Celtics' DJ Steward: Joining C's for training camp
Steward signed a training camp contract with the Celtics on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Steward showed out in Summer League with the 76ers and will now get a chance to compete for Boston's final two-way slot in training camp. Though Steward hasn't appeared in an NBA game since entering the league in 2021, he's been impressive in the G League and averaged 12.0 points and 4.3 assists on 46/41/85 shooting across 22.3 minutes per game with the Stockton Kings last year.

76ers' DJ Steward: Scores game-high 36 points
Steward posted 36 points (13-20 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six assists, five rebounds and one steal in 29 minutes during Sunday's 117-114 Summer League win over New Orleans.
Despite coming off the bench, Steward finished with game highs in shots attempted and points. He also tied Terquavion Smith for second on the team with six assists. Across his first four games in Vegas, Steward averaged 11.3 points while shooting 45.5 percent from downtown, and his performance Sunday will only boost those numbers.
