Shannon (rest) is out for Wednesday's Summer League game against the Suns, Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reports.
Wednesday is the second part of the Timberwolves' back-to-back set, so it's not shocking to see Shannon receive the day off after dropping 24 points in 28 minutes during Tuesday's 89-73 win over the Pistons. With Nickeil Alexander-Walker heading to Atlanta this offseason, Shannon is looking to handle a more stable role in Minnesota's rotation in 2025-26.

Shannon posted 24 points (6-9 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 9-9 FT), five rebounds, three assists and two steals across 28 minutes in Tuesday's 89-73 Summer League win over the Pistons.
Shannon was efficient from the field and frequently got to the charity stripe, finishing with a game-high mark in points. The Illinois product was also one of three Minnesota players to record multiple steals. The 24-year-old forward has helped lead the Timberwolves to a 3-0 record in Summer League play, racking up 20-plus points in every game.

Shannon racked up 24 points (8-19 FG, 5-14 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and one steal across 28 minutes during Saturday's 94-83 Summer League win against the Nuggets.
Shannon continues to be one of the best scoring threats for the Timberwolves during the Summer League, as he finished with a game-high 24 points Saturday. The 24-year-old struggled with his shooting from beyond arc, but he did have a strong all-around performance and was one of three players for Minnesota to grab seven rebounds.

Shannon totaled 20 points (6-14 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), nine assists, six rebounds and two steals across 31 minutes in Thursday's 98-91 Summer League win over the Pelicans.
Aside from struggling from beyond the arc, Shannon was electric in leading the Timberwolves to a win Thursday. The wing impressed during his 2024-25 rookie campaign when given extended run, averaging 16.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists on 53.4 percent shooting in the five of 32 regular-season games during which he played 20 or more minutes.

Timberwolves' Terrence Shannon: Provides spark off bench
Shannon finished with 11 points (3-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound and one steal in 16 minutes during Wednesday's 124-94 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.
Despite not being much of a factor in Minnesota's rotation all year, Shannon averaged 11.7 points in 12.3 minutes across the final three games of the team's series against Oklahoma City. Shannon will look to build off this success to gain a more significant role during his sophomore campaign, especially if Nickeil Alexander-Walker leaves in free agency.

Shannon left for the locker room with 7:19 remaining in the first half after a collision with an opposing player. However, the rookie has since returned to the club's bench, per Frederick, which bodes well for his chances of returning.

Shannon contributed 15 points (5-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 13 minutes during Saturday's 143-101 win over the Thunder in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.
Shannon became just the third rookie to score at least 15 points off the bench during the postseason and the first Minnesota player to do so, taking advantage of what was a thumping victory by the Timberwolves. While this was a much-needed win, it is unlikely the Thunder will turn up with the same effort, or lack thereof, when the two teams meet again Monday. Despite Shannon's scoring outburst, he remains nothing more than a depth piece, having played a total of just seven minutes in the previous eight games combined.

Shannon (groin) played the final 3:22 of Friday's 117-91 win over the Nets, finishing with one rebound and one foul during his time on the court.
Shannon saw his first game action since March 24 after he recently missed time due to a right groin strain, though he had been available off the bench in both of the last two contests. With the Timberwolves building a big lead by the fourth quarter, Shannon got the opportunity to see the floor in garbage time. Shannon could be in store for a slightly larger role in Sunday's season finale against the Jazz, as the Timberwolves could need him to play some minutes on the wing while Anthony Edwards serves an automatic one-game suspension stemming from him picking up his 18th technical foul of the season Friday.
