76ers' Quentin Grimes: Signs qualifying offer
The 76ers signed Grimes (personal) to a one-year, $8.7 million qualifying offer Wednesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Grimes and the 76ers brass have been going back and forth during contract negotiations, which didn't appear to be heading in the right direction. However, now he's back in the fold and has a no-trade clause. He'll become an unrestricted free agent next summer. His participation in the preseason remains uncertain, as it was reported that he wouldn't travel with the team overseas to Dubai before this deal was finalized. After being traded to Philadelphia by the Mavericks, Grimes played in 28 regular-season games, averaging 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game, shooting 46.9 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from beyond the arc.

76ers' Quentin Grimes: Both sides far apart on deal
The 76ers and Grimes remain "very far apart' on a new deal, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Wednesday.
For the first time this offseason, Grimes received a formal offer from the 76ers on Wednesday, but it sounds like he wasn't impressed. In fact, Grimes will not be attending Media Day on Friday and will not travel with the team for their overseas preseason trip this weekend. Charania added that this situation may ultimately come down to Grimes taking the qualifying offer and betting on himself next offseason.

The 76ers extended an $8.74 million qualifying offer to Grimes on Saturday, Tony Jones of The Athletic reports.
As expected, Philadelphia has extended a qualifying offer to Grimes, who is now set to become a restricted free agent. The 25-year-old is likely to draw interest from multiple teams after a career-best 2024-25 campaign, during which he averaged 14.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals across 26.8 minutes per game in 75 regular-season appearances (37 starts) between Dallas and Philadelphia. He also recorded shooting splits of 46.7/38.5/75.7.

76ers' Quentin Grimes: Strong finish to season overall
Grimes recorded eight points (3-14 FG, 0-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and four assists across 35 minutes during Sunday's 122-102 loss to the Bulls.
With the injury-plagued 76ers missing their top three scoring options in the final weeks of the regular season, Grimes stepped up in a big way to wrap up the year. Over his closing 12 contests, Grimes averaged 24.5 points, 5.5 assists, 5.4 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 3.5 three-pointers in 35.1 minutes. The 24-year-old swingman should garner plenty of interest from other teams this offseason, but Grimes is a restricted free agent, so the 76ers have the ability to match any offer he receives.
