Draft Scouting Report

Pro Comparison: CJ Elleby
Summary

Nkrumah is a slick shooting guard prospect, who has one of the wilder journeys in this draft class. The former Division III prospect led Tennessee State to the NCAA Tournament, shined under the bright lights of the Big Dance and didn’t waste his opportunity to leave a strong impression at the 2026 NBA Draft Combine.

About
  • 2025-26 OVC Player of the Year after a standout senior season at Tennessee State.
  • Ranked sixth nationally with a 4.9% steal percentage.
  • MASCAC Player of the Year in 2023-24 after starring for Division III Worcester State.
Strengths
  • Nkrumah is unpredictable in all the best ways. He has answers to the test at the rim with stop-and-pop pull-ups and from well beyond the arc.
  • Nkrumah strikes all the right notes as a potential role player. He has athleticism, shooting and confrontational defensive traits with NBA length and speed. It’s not hard to envision him changing the tenor of a game by pressing an opposing lead guard for 90 feet.
  • Work ethic. Nkrumah toiled in the shadows to get better and better. He’s turned himself from a mediocre shooter into a good one.
Weaknesses
  • Can Nkrumah’s thin, wiry frame handle the physicality of the NBA? He gets bumped off his line on drives and could get swallowed alive by the extra length and thump of the NBA game.
  • Nkrumah is a bit of a risk-taker defensively, which can get him into trouble sometimes. It opens up alleys for a bit too many straight-line drives.
  • We don’t have a huge sample size of the jumper being a legitimate asset. Nkrumah shot just 27% from 3-point range as a junior. Nkrumah pathways to stick in the league are much slimmer without a jumper.
Combine Data
  • Wingspan: 6 feet, 10.25 inches
  • Standing vertical leap: 28.5 inches
  • Standing reach: 8 feet, 8 inches
  • Lane agility: 11.18 seconds
  • Three quarter sprint: 3.24 seconds
  • Max vertical leap: 35 inches
