Riley Minix: Cut by San Antonio
The Spurs waived Minix (undisclosed) on Friday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
San Antonio will move on from Minix in order to free up a two-way spot for guard Kyle Mangas. Minix had missed the G League Austin Spurs' most recent game Wednesday against the Mexico City Capitanes due to an undisclosed issue, though it's unclear whether an injury was a factor in the Spurs moving on from him. Once he clears waivers and returns to full health, Minix could stick in the organization as a member of the Austin roster. He made three appearances at the NBA level this season, averaging just 2.7 minutes per contest.

Spurs' Riley Minix: Rare appearance in win
Minix finished Monday's 121-103 victory over Toronto with one assist in two minutes.
Minix made just his second appearance of the season, and the third appearance of his career, all of which have come during blowouts. At this stage, it's hard to see Minix playing a consistent role, especially if San Antonio is looking to contend this season.

Spurs' Riley Minix: Inks two-way pact with San Antonio
Minix agreed to a two-way contract with the Spurs on Tuesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Minix will return to San Antonio after signing a one-year, two-way deal with the Spurs in October 2024. The 24-year-old forward appeared in just one regular-season game with the parent club before undergoing season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder in January. He appeared in 19 G League outings with the Austin Spurs in the 2024-25 campaign, during which he averaged 19.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.1 blocks and 1.0 steals across 31.6 minutes per game.

Spurs' Riley Minix: Won't play Saturday
Minix (undisclosed) will not play in Saturday's Summer League game against the Pistons, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
Minix will sit Saturday, presumably as a matter of rest, though his recovery from shoulder surgery likely played a role in this decision. The forward appeared in just one game for the Spurs in the 2024-25 season, pulling down two rebounds in seven minutes.

Spurs' Riley Minix: Cleared for return
Minix (shoulder) finished with 14 points (5-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds and two assists over 21 minutes during Thursday's 111-70 Summer League win over the 76ers.
Minix sat out the California Classic Summer League in San Francisco while completing his rehab from shoulder surgery, but he was cleared in time for Thursday's exhibition. The 24-year-old shot the ball well from beyond the arc and was one of four starters to accumulate at least five rebounds in the blowout victory.

Spurs' Riley Minix: Won't play in San Francisco
Minix (shoulder) won't play in the California Classic Summer League in San Francisco, but he could feature during the NBA 2K26 Summer League in Las Vegas, Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Minix underwent season-ending surgery back on Jan. 1 to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. His recovery is going well, however, and San Antonio fans will apparently get a chance to see him in action later this summer. During his rookie season, Minix made just one appearance at the NBA level in garbage time.

Spurs' Riley Minix: Gets season-ending surgery
The Spurs announced that Minix underwent season-ending surgery Tuesday to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, Michael C. Wright of ESPN.com reports.
Minix sustained the injury in a Jan. 1 game while playing for the G League's Austin Spurs. The undrafted rookie out of Morehead State is on a two-way contract with San Antonio and had spent most of the season with Austin. He appeared in just one game for the parent club, playing seven minutes of garbage time in a 27-point loss to the Rockets on Nov. 6.
