Top Tyrese Proctor News

  • Cavaliers' Tyrese Proctor: Knocks down triple in win

Proctor scored three points (1-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt) and added two rebounds, an assist and a steal across 10 minutes in Monday's 116-95 win over Detroit.

Proctor has not been able to find himself a consistent role within Cleveland's rotation, as he is behind the likes of Sam Merrill (hip), Lonzo Ball (rest) and Craig Porter. However, in the event of a backcourt injury, Proctor would be first in line to slide up the depth chart and inherit more minutes, which was the case Monday with Merrill leaving the contest early and Ball resting.

  • Cavaliers' Tyrese Proctor: Won't start Tuesday

Proctor won't start in Tuesday's preseason game against the Pistons.

With Donovan Mitchell (rest) and Sam Merrill (undisclosed) returning to action, Proctor will retreat to the bench. The Duke product drew the start in Sunday's preseason loss to the Celtics, posting 12 points (5-14 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four assists, two rebounds and one steal in 28 minutes.

  • Cavaliers' Tyrese Proctor: Scores 12 in start

Proctor produced 12 points (5-14 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four assists, two rebounds, one steal and three turnovers in 28 minutes of Sunday's 138-107 preseason loss to Boston.

Proctor drew the start Sunday with the Cavaliers sitting several key players. The No. 49 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Proctor was dominant in the Summer League and has carried that momentum over into the preseason. He's making a strong case to be considered in the rotation for Opening Night, but he still has a lot of work to do.

  • Cavaliers' Tyrese Proctor: Starting Sunday

Proctor will start Sunday's preseason game against the Celtics.

With many usual starters seemingly getting the night off, Proctor will enter the starting lineup. Proctor has averaged 10.5 points and 3.0 assists in 10.5 minutes per game through two preseason appearances and should see a sizeable uptick in minutes Sunday.

  • Cavaliers' Tyrese Proctor: Erupts for 35 points in SL loss

Proctor racked up 35 points (11-24 FG, 4-14 3Pt, 9-9), three rebounds, four assists and two steals across 28 minutes during Wednesday's 94-86 Summer League loss to the Kings.

Proctor put on a show, lighting up the scoreboard with a game-high 35 points. He also dished out a team-high four assists in a losing effort during this Las Vegas Summer League game.

  • Cavaliers' Tyrese Proctor: Joins Cleveland

Proctor was selected by the Cavaliers with the No. 49 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Proctor's counting stats -- 12.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists over 38 games -- weren't eye-popping, but his efficiency (45.2 percent from the field and 40.5 percent from three) and leadership made him a key glue guy for Duke. Though he's undersized and lacks top-tier athleticism, Proctor's shooting ability gives him a clear path to carving out a role at the next level.
