Nuggets' Cameron Johnson: Improves in second preseason game
Johnson tallied 11 points (4-6 FG, 2-2 FT, 1-3 3Pt), four rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot over 20 minutes during Monday's 112-108 preseason win over the Raptors.
It may take some time for Johnson to gel fully with his teammates, as he's now occupying a role previously filled by Michael Porter, who was a mainstay in the offense for six seasons. Johnson brings a slightly different skillset to the table, with more playmaking skills. While he'll still play a complementary role in the offense, he'll bring a different dimension to the team as a third or fourth-best offensive option.

Nuggets' Cameron Johnson: Muted performance in Denver debut
Johnson logged two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and one assist over 15 minutes during the Nuggets' 126-116 preseason loss to the Timberwolves on Saturday.
Johnson made his first appearance in a Nuggets uniform Saturday, though he didn't make much of an impact on the offensive side of the floor. He spent the last two full seasons with the Nets but was traded by Brooklyn to Denver in late June in exchange for Michael Porter and an unprotected 2032 first-round pick. Johnson averaged a career-high 18.8 minutes per game for the Nets last season, but he's expected to take on a more complementary role while playing alongside Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

Nuggets' Cameron Johnson: Headed to Denver
The Nets traded Johnson (back) to the Nuggets in exchange for Michael Porter and a first-round pick Monday, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
The Nuggets needed to add some much-needed floor spacing and a reliable three-point threat to their offensive scheme, and Johnson excels at both. The six-year forward connected on 39 percent of his threes on 7.2 attempts per game in the 2024-25 campaign while averaging 18.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Johnson should be an immediate starter for the Nuggets, but his fantasy stock will probably take a hit compared to his Brooklyn days since he'll now be the team's third option on offense behind the star duo of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

Nets' Cameron Johnson: Won't play in regular-season finale
Johnson (back) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Knicks, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
A lower back contusion will force Johnson to miss the final seven games of the regular season. The 2019 first-round had a strong start to the season, but he ended up missing 22 of the Nets' 48 games after the beginning of January, mostly due to a sprained right ankle. Johnson finishes the 2024-25 regular season averaging career highs in points (18.8), assists (3.4) and field-goal percentage (47.5 percent) while starting in all 57 games in which he appeared.
