Sabres' Devon Levi: Strong in AHL shootout loss
Levi stopped 38 of 39 shots in AHL Rochester's 2-1 shootout loss to Lehigh Valley on Saturday.
Levi also stopped seven of eight shootout attempts, but it wasn't enough. He's now 10-4-3 with a 2.79 GAA and a .909 save percentage over 17 AHL games this year, though his numbers are noticeably down from last year's 2.20 GAA and .919 save percentage over 42 regular-season contests. Levi is unlikely to be an NHL option this season as the Sabres opt to stick with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Alex Lyon, as well as Colten Ellis (concussion) once he's healthy.

Sabres' Adam Kleber: Rare burst on offense
Kleber had two assists in the University of Minnesota-Duluth's 6-3 loss to Arizona State University on Saturday.
Kleber has just five points over 20 outings this season. That matches his output from 33 contests a year ago. The Sabres prospect projects as a stay-at-home blueliner who relies on his physicality to make an impact, but his limited offense in collegiate hockey is less than encouraging.

Sabres' Noah Ostlund: Summoned from AHL
Ostlund was recalled from AHL Rochester on Saturday, according to Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News.
Ostlund had a goal and two assists in his one AHL game since being demoted Sunday. He has three goals and six points in 20 NHL games this season as well as three goals and 10 points in seven AHL contests. The Sabres sent Trevor Kuntar to the Americans in a corresponding move.

Sabres' Trevor Kuntar: Back in AHL
Kuntar was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Saturday, per Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News.
Kuntar made his NHL debut Thursday, picking up one hit over 5:12 of ice time. The 24-year-old had nine goals and four helpers in 24 AHL games before his recall. The Sabres recalled Noah Ostlund from Rochester in a corresponding move.

Sabres' Stiven Sardarian: Picks up two points
Sardarian scored a goal and added an assist in Michigan Tech's 3-2 win over Ferris State University on Friday.
Sardarian is up to seven goals and 25 points through 17 appearances this season. The Sabres prospect was a point-per-game player last year but has elevated his performance in his final year of NCAA eligibility. He should finish 2025-26 with career highs across the board.

Sabres' Zach Benson: Nets first goal of campaign
Benson scored a power-play goal and added two PIM in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Canucks.
The goal was Benson's first of the campaign. He's dealt with a few injuries this year, which has limited his effectiveness as he tries to find a rhythm. He has just four points over his last nine outings while primarily seeing middle-six usage since returning from a lower-body issue. He's now at a total of 12 points, 32 shots on net and a plus-1 rating through 18 appearances.

Sabres' Tage Thompson: Earns pair of points
Thompson scored a goal on five shots, dished a power-play assist and blocked two shots in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Canucks.
Thompson tied the game at 9:12 of the second period and then helped out on a Zach Benson goal a few minutes later. The 28-year-old Thompson has scored in three straight contests and has six points, including four on the power play, in that span. For the season, he's at 15 goals, 28 points (nine on the power play), 113 shots on net, 35 hits, 15 blocked shots and a minus-12 rating through 31 appearances in a top-line role.

Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: Supplies two points in win
Dahlin scored a goal on three shots, added an assist, blocked three shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Canucks.
Dahlin opened the scoring at 7:36 of the first period and helped out on Tage Thompson's game-tying goal in the second. With two goals and six helpers during his four-game point streak, Dahlin is starting to find a rhythm again after a quiet end to November. The defenseman is up to three goals, 25 points, 75 shots on net, 34 blocked shots, 24 hits, 33 PIM and a minus-10 rating over 28 appearances. He can contribute across the board from a top-pairing role, so Dahlin should continue to see ample ice time.

Sabres' Alex Lyon: Steady in win
Lyon stopped 30 of 32 shots in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Canucks.
Lyon's got a chance to claim a larger share of playing time while Colten Ellis (concussion) is on injured reserve. This was Lyon's second straight win, and he's allowed five goals on 56 shots in that span. For the season, the 33-year-old netminder is at a 5-6-3 record with a 3.13 GAA and a .902 save percentage over 16 appearances. Lyon will probably struggle to consistently earn wins, but he's been a passable fantasy goalie when he's getting enough playing time.

Sabres' Alex Tuch: Not playing Thursday
Tuch (illness) won't play versus the Canucks on Thursday, Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports.
Tuch's absence will open the door for Trevor Kuntar to make his NHL debut. The 29-year-old Tuch should be considered day-to-day for now, and it's unclear if he'll be ready for Sunday's game in Seattle.

Sabres' Alex Lyon: First goalie off Thursday
Lyon was the first goalie off during Thursday's morning skate, Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic reports, indicating that he'll draw the road start against Vancouver.
Lyon was in the starter's crease during Thursday's morning skate, and although he briefly left the ice with an apparent injury, he returned shortly later and should serve as the starting netminder against Vancouver. The Canucks are scoring 2.77 goals per game this season, which is tied for the eighth-worst mark in the league.

Sabres' Josh Norris: Unavailable Thursday
Norris (illness) will miss Thursday's game against Vancouver, per Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News.
Norris was also absent for Buffalo's 4-3 overtime victory over Edmonton. He has two goals and seven points in five appearances this season. The hope is that Norris will be able to return Sunday in Seattle.

Sabres' Colten Ellis: Placed on injured reserve
Ellis (concussion) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports.
Ellis landed in the concussion protocol after exiting Tuesday's game against the Oilers, and he'll be sidelined for at least a week while he recovers. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Alex Lyon should see time in the crease while Ellis is unavailable.

Sabres' Konsta Helenius: Racks up three points Wednesday
Helenius scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Rochester's 6-1 win over Belleville on Wednesday.
Helenius has a point in 10 of Rochester's last 11 games, earning five goals and eight assists in that stretch. The 19-year-old has acclimated well to North America over the last two seasons. He had 35 points in 65 regular-season outings as a rookie last year, and he's up to nine goals, 23 points and 73 shots on net through 25 appearances this season. The Sabres will still want to let him dominate the AHL for a while before giving him a shot at an NHL job.

Sabres' Noah Ostlund: Three points in return to AHL
Ostlund scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Rochester's 6-1 win over Belleville on Wednesday.
Ostlund appeared in his first AHL game since Nov. 1 after a lengthy stint with the Sabres. He has six points in 20 games with Buffalo this year, and he's added 10 points and 31 shots over seven outings for Rochester. Any time spent in the AHL now is merely to keep his confidence up until a prominent role in the Sabres' lineup becomes available.

Sabres' Riley Fiddler-Schultz: Three-point effort for Rochester
Fiddler-Schultz scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Rochester's 6-1 win over Belleville on Wednesday.
Fiddler-Schultz has six points over his last eight outings. The 23-year-old forward is up to 11 points in 25 appearances for the Americans this year. That's a little worse than his 26-point effort in 51 regular-season contests last season. He probably won't be in the mix for a call-up to Buffalo any time soon.

Sabres' Nikita Novikov: Two goals in AHL win
Novikov scored twice in AHL Rochester's 6-1 win over Belleville on Wednesday.
Novikov had just one helper over his previous five games. The defenseman is at three goals, nine points, a plus-9 rating and 32 PIM through 25 appearances in his third AHL campaign. He had a total of 43 points over 133 contests in his first two seasons with Rochester, but he's tracking a little better this year.

Kuntar agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with the Sabres on Wednesday.
Kuntar has nine goals, 13 points and 43 PIM in 24 outings with AHL Rochester in 2025-26. The 24-year-old had been playing with Rochester on a one-year AHL contract, and he's now eligible to be summoned to Buffalo. Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports Kuntar will join the Sabres ahead of their game in Vancouver on Thursday.
