Lakers' Luka Doncic: Pops for 35 points in loss
Doncic finished Wednesday's 132-119 loss to the Spurs with 35 points (11-24 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 10-14 FT), five rebounds, eight assists and one steal over 41 minutes.
Doncic recorded his seventh game this season with at least 14 free-throw attempts and his 14th game scoring at least 30 points. While his efforts were not enough to secure a win in the NBA Cup quarterfinals, his presence was definitely missed, as he was out for the two games in Toronto and Boston for personal reasons. Doncic has scored at least 30 points in nine straight appearances, averaging 36.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.8 blocks and 3.7 threes across 37.4 minutes in that span.

Lakers' Austin Reaves: Full stat line in loss
Reaves registered 15 points (6-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists and one block in 40 minutes during Wednesday's 132-119 loss to San Antonio.
Reaves has slowed down offensively, scoring just 26 combined points while shooting 9-for-32 from the field in his last two games after dropping a combined 80 points against the Raptors and Celtics in the two games prior. While the downward trend in usage can be attributed to the respective returns of LeBron James and Luka Doncic, Reaves has to improve his efficiency from the field if the team wants to succeed.

Lakers' Marcus Smart: Season-high 26 points in return
Smart (back) contributed 26 points (9-16 FG, 8-14 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one block across 28 minutes during Wednesday's 132-119 loss to the Spurs.
After missing the past six games due to a left lumbar muscle strain, Smart made a splash in his return, landing eight triples en route to a season-high scoring haul. While Smart's stellar outing was encouraging, he's a career 32.4 percent shooter from downtown who is unlikely to have many eight-triple games left in him. Smart can still provide some value as a streaming option for three-pointers, steals and assists, though his opportunity to play big minutes will be contingent on the availability of Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves and LeBron James.

Lakers' Dalton Knecht: Another low point Wednesday
Knecht accumulated three points (1-1 FG, 1-1 3Pt) in one minute during Wednesday's 132-119 loss to the Spurs.
Knecht continues to be a non-factor for the Lakers, having scored double digits only five times thus far this season. He has played in three of the past four games, averaging 3.7 points in 5.7 minutes per game during that span. At this stage, he would need a miracle to have any chance of going close to putting up fantasy value, outside of very deep formats.

Lakers' Bronny James: Rare appearance in loss
James logged no counting stats in one minute during Wednesday's 132-119 loss to San Antonio.
James made his fifth straight garbage-time appearance, continuing a season devoid of highlights. At this stage, his name warrants more attention than his on-court play, averaging just 1.9 points in 8.9 minutes per game. Barring multiple injuries to other players, it is unlikely we will see him on a regular basis.

Lakers' LeBron James: Big double-double in loss
James generated 19 points (7-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 15 rebounds, eight assists and three blocks across 36 minutes of Wednesday's 132-119 loss to San Antonio.
Since being cleared for action in mid-November, James has taken a back seat to Luka Doncic and, occasionally, Austin Reaves from a scoring standpoint. Still, the 40-year-old has been productive elsewhere, and he thrived in the peripheral categories against the Spurs. He more than doubled his previous season high of seven rebounds, and he surpassed his previous season total of two blocks Wednesday night.

Lakers' Maxi Kleber: Ruled out vs. Spurs
Kleber (back) won't play in Wednesday's game against the Spurs, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.
Kleber is dealing with a lumbar muscle strain, making it unclear how long he'll need to recover. His absence should solidify Rui Hachimura's minutes and also keep Jaxson Hayes locked into the backup center role, while Jake LaRavia could see an uptick in minutes Wednesday.

Lakers' Marcus Smart: Off report for Wednesday
Smart (back) isn't listed on the injury report for Wednesday's game against the Spurs.
Smart will make his return for the NBA Cup matchup following a six-game absence due to a back injury. With the veteran guard back in action, Gabe Vincent and Jake LaRavia could see their roles on the second unit decrease. Smart has averaged 9.3 points, 2.9 assists, 2.3 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.1 triples in 26.8 minutes per contest over 14 games this season.

Lakers' Maxi Kleber: Questionable to play Wednesday
Kleber is listed as questionable for Wednesday's NBA Cup quarterfinals matchup against the Spurs due to a lumbar muscle strain.
It's unclear when Kleber sustained the injury, given that he hasn't played in coach's decisions in two of the Lakers' last three games. His potential absence Wednesday won't open up extra playing time for other Los Angeles reserves.

Lakers' Marcus Smart: Expected to play vs. Spurs
Smart (back) intends to play in Wednesday's game against the Spurs, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports.
Head coach JJ Redick said Sunday that the Lakers were targeting Wednesday for Smart's return from a six-game absence due to a back injury, and the veteran guard plans to "give it a go" against San Antonio. His status likely won't be confirmed until sometime closer to Wednesday's tipoff at 10:00 p.m. ET, though. Smart has averaged 9.3 points, 2.9 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 26.8 minutes per night over 14 games this season.

Lakers' Deandre Ayton: Double-doubles in win
Ayton ended Sunday's 112-108 win over Philadelphia with 14 points (7-7 FG), 12 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 31 minutes.
Ayton went perfect from the field for the first time this season and has been on a tear offensively. In his last six games, Ayton averages 14.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.7 blocks across 30.3 minutes, shooting a staggering 73.6 percent from the field and 90.9 percent from the charity stripe.
