  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Beaten three times Sunday

Annunen stopped 25 of 28 shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Lightning. Annunen didn't play in the 4-1 loss to Montreal on Saturday, but he's lost back-to-back starts for the second time since the beginning of the month. Annunen has also posted a save percentage below .900 in three of his six starts since the beginning of March, and given the Predators' recent defensive struggles, it's hard to trust the 26-year-old in most formats right now, especially since he's a matchup-based option as the backup behind Juuse Saros.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Starting trip opener

Annunen will get the start in net for Sunday's game against the Lightning, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Annunen's three-game streak of games with a save percentage of .900 or better was snapped last time out as he surrendered three goals on 29 shots in a loss to the Devils. He'll be fighting an uphill battle in his effort to rebound Sunday against the Lightning, who have scored at least three goals in seven straight games. The 26-year-old Annunen has an 8-10-2 record on the season with a 2.90 GAA and an .898 save percentage.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Beaten three times

Annunen stopped 26 of 29 shots in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Devils. The fourth goal was an empty-netter. Annunen was beaten once in each period and couldn't build on his two-game winning streak. In fact, the lack of consistency from game to game has been Annunen's biggest issue since the league resumed following the Olympic break. The 26-year-old netminder has made six starts since the league resumed and is 3-3-0 during that time, though that record comes with a 2.03 GAA and .931 save percentage. Those are strong enough numbers to show fantasy managers should continue to trust him even if he finds himself at the losing end of games more often than not.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: First goalie off Thursday

Annunen was the first goalie to leave the ice Thursday, Alex Daugherty of The Tennessean reports, indicating he'll patrol the crease at home versus the Devils. Annunen allowed just two goals on 66 combined shots over his last two outings, securing victories over the Golden Knights and the Kraken. With the Predators clinging to a wild-card spot, they likely will ride the hot hand and continue to give Annunen plenty of opportunities down the stretch.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Sharp again Saturday

Annunen stopped 39 shots in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Golden Knights. A Shea Theodore power-play tally in the second period ruined his shutout bid, but Annunen was once again impressive as he fills in for the injured Juuse Saros (upper body). Annunen has allowed three goals or fewer in all five of his starts since the Olympic break, going 3-2-0 with a stellar .940 save percentage, and he'll likely see a heavy workload as long as Saros is sidelined.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Earns win versus Seattle

Annunen stopped 25 of 26 shots in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Kraken. Annunen had one of his best performances of the season in this win over the Kraken, but the strong performances have been the norm recently for the 26-year-old Finnish native. This was the fourth consecutive game in which Annunen allowed three or fewer goals, and he's gone 2-2-0 with a 2.03 GAA and a .924 save percentage in that stretch. Annunen could be in line for more playing time in the coming days since the No. 1 goaltender, Juuse Saros, is currently dealing with an upper-body injury. If Saros isn't deemed healthy to play against Vegas on Saturday, Annunen should get the nod once again.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Getting starting nod

Annunen will protect the home goal versus the Kraken on Thursday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Annunen will get the nod since Juuse Saros (upper body) is unavailable. Over his last five outings, Annunen is 2-3-0 with a 2.46 GAA and a .910 save percentage. This is a big game for the wild-card race in the Western Conference, as the Predators are chasing the Kraken, who currently hold the final playoff spot.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Fares well despite loss

Annunen stopped 27 of 29 shots in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Oilers. The third goal was an empty-netter. Juuse Saros typically struggles against Edmonton, so the Predators turned to Annunen for this game. Despite the loss, the 26-year-old put in a good effort to keep the game close, but his teammates didn't give him enough support. Annunen is 2-3-0 with 11 goals allowed on 122 shots over his last five appearances. For the season, the Finnish netminder is 6-9-2 with a 3.09 GAA and an .888 save percentage through 21 outings, numbers mostly in line with what he did last year. Expect Saros to get the nod versus the Jets on Tuesday.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Set to start in Alberta

Annunen is drawing the start for Sunday's game in Edmonton, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Annunen's last start was March 3 in Columbus -- he allowed three goals on 27 shots in a 3-2 loss. The 26-year-old is 6-8-2 with a 3.15 GAA and an .886 save percentage across 20 appearances this season. Edmonton is tied for second in the NHL with 3.51 goals per game in 2025-26 and will have Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (personal) back in the lineup Sunday.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Gets win over Blackhawks

Annunen stopped 21 of 23 shots in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Blackhawks. Annunen allowed a go-ahead goal to Tyler Bertuzzi in the third period, but the Predators bounced back with the last three tallies of the game. This was Annunen's second win in his last three outings. The 25-year-old netminder has had plenty of ups and downs this season, sitting at a 6-7-2 record with a 3.16 GAA and an .885 save percentage across 19 appearances. Juuse Saros will likely return to the starting role in a tough matchup Saturday in Dallas.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Scuffles continue

Annunen made 26 saves in a 4-2 loss to the Capitals on Thursday. Annunen is 5-7-2 with a 3.23 GAA and .886 save percentage in 13 starts (18 appearances) this season. He doesn't get enough games behind Juuse Saros to make him an appealing option in net, and his ratios make him a sketchy spot starter in daily formats. Annunen is 1-2-1 in his last three starts (five appearances). He allowed 14 goals in those three starts, including a seven-goal debacle against Vegas on Jan. 17.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Set to start Thursday

Annunen is slated to start Thursday's road game against Washington, Alex Daugherty of The Tennessean reports. Annunen is poised to get the second half of Nashville's back-to-back after Juuse Saros starts at home against the Wild on Wednesday. Annunen has made five appearances since the start of the calendar year, going 2-1-1 with a 2.87 GAA and .907 save percentage.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Yields three goals in loss

Annunen turned aside 32 of 35 shots on goal in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to New Jersey. Annunen was tasked with recording a high total of saves in regulation to force overtime, in which he ultimately fell short when New Jersey's Nico Hischier rifled the game-winning tally past him 42 seconds into the extra period. With the loss, Annunen now holds a 4-6-2 record, 3.30 GAA and .881 save percentage across 16 outings this season. While the 25-year-old netminder hasn't found the win column in each of his last three outings, he has only one regulation loss across his last six appearances, a stretch during which he has a 2.69 GAA and a .909 save percentage. He remains firmly behind Juuse Saros on the depth chart, but with solid performances such as Thursday's, Annunen could begin to draw more starts if the Predators start slipping out of playoff contention.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Strong showing in relief

Annunen stopped all 13 shots he faced in relief in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Sabres. Annunen entered the game in the second period after Juuse Saros allowed four goals on 18 shots. Annunen has limited upside as the backup netminder this season, but he can be a decent matchup-based streaming option at times.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Expected to face Vegas

Annunen is expected to start on the road against Vegas on Saturday, per Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site. Although Annunen has played sparingly this season, he has won his past three starts while stopping 75 of 80 shots (.938 save percentage). He's 4-5-1 with a 3.17 GAA and an .881 save percentage in 13 outings in 2025-26. Vegas has won its past six games, posting 4.83 goals per game across that stretch.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Defeats Capitals

Annunen stopped 28 of 30 shots in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Capitals. Annunen has started just three of the Predators' last 11 games, but he's earned wins in each of those outings. He gave up both goals on Capitals power plays in this contest, but the Predators had a pair of tallies with the man advantage to cancel those out. Annunen is up to 4-5-1 with a 3.17 GAA and an .881 save percentage over 13 contests. While he's playing well currently, he's the backup to the busiest goalie in the league, Juuse Saros, which leaves Annunen with few chances to tend the twine. His next game is likely to be in an upcoming road back-to-back, but the matchups are brutal, as he'll either face the Avalanche on Friday or the Golden Knights on Saturday.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Drawing start Sunday

Annunen will be between the home pipes against the Rangers on Sunday, according to Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site. Annunen hasn't gotten in the win column since Nov. 26 in Detroit, as he's 0-2-0 with a 3.30 GAA and an .897 save percentage over his last three appearances. The Rangers will be without J.T. Miller (upper body) on Sunday, and Gabe Perreault and Matt Rempe are late scratches due to illness. New York has won back-to-back contests following a two-game losing streak.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Set to face Colorado

Annunen is expected to start on the road against Colorado on Saturday, per Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site. Annunen has struggled this campaign, posting a 1-4-1 record, 3.83 GAA and .846 save percentage in nine appearances this season. Going up against the Avalanche isn't likely to give him better results. Colorado is 22-2-7 and ranks first in goals per game with 4.00. Annunen began his NHL career with Colorado before being traded to Nashville during the 2024-25 campaign. He's making his first career start against his former team.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Needed in relief Saturday

Annunen stopped the only two shots he faced after replacing Juuse Saros midway through the third period of Saturday's 6-3 loss to Carolina. Saros getting the hook had far more to do with the Predators' lackadaisical defensive effort than it did his own performance, and Nashville was down 6-1 when Annunen took the crease. The 25-year-old backup netminder has just one win in his nine appearances this season, going 1-4-1 with a rough 3.83 GAA and .846 save percentage.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Gives up four goals

Annunen stopped 20 of 24 shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Jets. The fifth goal was an empty-netter with 21 seconds left in the game. Annunen got the start in the second leg of his back-to-back set after Juuse Saros defeated the Blackhawks on Friday. Unfortunately for the Predators, Annunen was unable to replicate the results and was beaten four times en route to another defeat. Annunen has won in just one of his eight appearances this season, going 1-4-1 and allowing three or more goals in all but one of them.
