  • David Bada: Cut with injury settlement

The Lions waived Bada (Achilles) with an injury settlement Saturday.

Bada had been on the Lions' injured reserve list after he was injured in the preseason opener over the summer. He appeared in two games for the Commanders back in 2022 but has yet to play in a regular-season contest since.

  • Lions' David Bada: Shifts to injured reserve

Bada (Achilles) reverted to IR on Wednesday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Bada hurt his Achilles during the Lions' preseason opener versus the Giants and wasn't able to return to action during the exhibition slate. He was waived with an injury designation Tuesday and subsequently cleared waivers. Bada will miss the entire 2024 campaign unless he reaches an injury settlement with Detroit.

  • David Bada: Gets let go

Bada (Achilles) was waived with an injury designation by the Lions on Tuesday.

Bada suffered the injury in Detroit's preseason opener against the Giants on Aug. 8 and has remained sidelined since. The injury certainly derailed the 29-year-old's chances of making the team out of camp. He should revert to IR once he clears waivers.

  • Lions' David Bada: Suffers Achilles injury

Bada suffered an Achilles injury in Thursday night's preseason loss to the Giants, Justin Rogers of DetroitFootball.net reports.

Bada couldn't put any weight on his leg after the injury, and Rogers suspects it's a long-term issue. Bada appeared in two games for the Commanders in 2022 before spending all of last season on injured reserve with an arm injury. He signed with the Lions last month and was trying to compete for a roster spot.

  • Lions' David Bada: Healthy again

Bada (arm) signed with the Lions on Thursday, Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News reports.

The defensive tackle needed surgery to repair a torn triceps during training camp with Washington last year. The 29-year-old from the NFL's International Pathway Program spent the last four seasons with Washington but only appeared in two games.

  • Commanders' David Bada: Undergoes surgey

Bada had surgery recently to repair his torn triceps, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

Bada suffered the injury during practice Aug. 3 and was placed on injured reserve last Thursday, and he'll miss the entirety of the 2023 campaign unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team. Even if that happens, his recovery time will likely make it difficult for him to take the field before the season is over.

  • Commanders' David Bada: Lands on injured reserve

Bada (triceps) was placed on injured reserve by the Commanders on Thursday, Zach Selby of the team's official site reports.

The defensive tackle suffered a torn tricep during practice Wednesday. Bada spent the past three seasons on Washington's practice squad and has two career tackles. Given the timing of his placement on injured reserve, the fourth-year pro would have to be waived or reach an injury settlement in order to suit up in 2023.

  • Commanders' David Bada: Sidelined by injury

Bada suffered a torn triceps during practice Wednesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

Bada will continue to be evaluated, but if he did indeed suffer a torn triceps, he's likely looking at an extended amount of time out of action. He'll now turn his focus to getting healthy.

  • Football Team's David Bada: Sticking with Washington

The Football Team restored Bada (undisclosed) from the practice squad COVID-19 list Wednesday and signed him to a reserve/future contract, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

Bada is still looking for a chance to make his NFL debut, but after spending the last two seasons on Washington's practice squad, he has earned another chance to continue his development.
