Tre Hawkins: Let go from IR
The Giants waived Hawkins from injured reserve Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Hawkins was set to miss the entire 2025 season after reverting to the Giants' injured reserve in late August. Now that he's been waived, the 2023 sixth-rounder will be eligible to sign with another team once he has fully recovered from his injury. Hawkins appeared in three regular-season games for the Giants in 2024 and logged 10 tackles (eight solo) and two pass defenses (one interception).

Giants' Tre Hawkins: Reverts to IR
Hawkins (undisclosed) reverted to injured reserve with the Giants on Wednesday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Hawkins was waived with an injury designation Tuesday, and he is now set to miss the entirety of the 2025 campaign while on IR with an undisclosed injury. The cornerback would be eligible to return to action this season if he reaches an injury settlement with New York, otherwise he'll shift his focus to 2026.

Hawkins will not need surgery on his fractured lumbar spine, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
The cornerback is still out for the season after suffering the injury during Sunday's 14-11 loss to the Saints, per Duggan. Hawkins has appeared in three games and on 79 defensive snaps this season, recording 10 tackles (eight solo) and two pass breakups, including an interception.

Hawkins suffered a fractured lumbar spine in Sunday's 14-11 loss to the Saints and is likely to miss the rest of the season, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
The Old Dominion product had six combined tackles and his first career interception before exiting Sunday's game. Assuming the Giants place him on injured reserve in the coming days, Hawkins will finish his second NFL season with 10 tackles and two pass breakups over three appearances.

Hawkins (ankle) is active for Monday's matchup with the Steelers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
An ankle injury led to a questionable designation for Hawkins heading into the evening, but he will ultimately play through the issue. The cornerback played 35.0 percent of defensive snaps in last week's loss to the Eagles. He figures to be in line for a similar workload in Pittsburgh assuming he avoids any setbacks.

The Giants announced Saturday that Hawkins (ankle) is questionable for Monday's game against the Steelers, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Hawkins played 35 percent of defensive snaps Week 7 versus the Eagles, and he appears to have picked up an ankle injury during the contest. If he's able to gain clearance for Monday Night Football, he'll figure to once again handle a depth role in New York's secondary.
