Colts' Anthony Richardson: Recovering from orbital surgery
Richardson underwent surgery Monday to repair his orbital fracture and could return from injured reserve later this season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The Colts haven't issued a timeline for Richardson's return from surgery, which he required after fracturing his orbital when he was hit in the eye by a piece of workout equipment prior to Indianapolis' Oct. 12 win over the Cardinals. Since Richardson was deactivated, rookie Riley Leonard has stepped in as the Colts' No. 2 quarterback behind starter Daniel Jones.

Colts' Anthony Richardson: Sent to injured reserve
The Colts placed Richardson (orbital) on injured reserve Monday.
Richardson will miss at least the next four games with his orbital fracture, meaning his first chance to return to the lineup is Week 12 against the Chiefs. The Colts have sixth-round rookie Riley Leonard as an option to serve as Daniel Jones' backup in the meantime, but Indianapolis could also look outside the organization for a veteran QB2.

Colts' Anthony Richardson: Expected to miss multiple weeks
Richardson (eye) is expected to mis multiple weeks after sustaining an orbital fracture ahead of Sunday's win over the Cardinals, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.
Richardson was hospitalized after being hit in the eye by a piece of workout equipment in pregame warmups Sunday. He's dealing with significant swelling around the eye, impairing his vision, though there isn't believed to be any damage to his actual eye. With Richardson out for the immediate future, the Colts could look outside the organization for a veteran backup behind Daniel Jones. Sixth-round rookie Riley Leonard is another option for QB2 duties.

Colts' Anthony Richardson: Sustains orbital eye fracture
Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that Richardson suffered an orbital eye fracture while warming up prior to Sunday's 31-27 win over the Cardinals, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.
Richardson sustained the injury while working out with elastic bands prior to the contest and was made inactive for the Week 6 game, and he could be at risk of missing additional time, per Stephen Holder of ESPN.com. Rookie Riley Leonard backed up starter Daniel Jones in Sunday's win and could be headed for a multi-game run as the Colts' No. 2 quarterback.

Colts' Anthony Richardson: Out Week 6 due to eye injury
Richardson is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cardinals after sustaining an eye injury while doing pregame work with resistance bands, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
The Colts haven't provided word on the severity of the injury, but Richardson was apparently in enough discomfort that the team elected to make him inactive for the first time this season. Richardson had suited up as starting quarterback Daniel Jones' top backup for each of the first five games and saw action late in blowout wins in Weeks 3 and 5, but rookie Riley Leonard is now slated to handle the No. 2 role Sunday.
