Jaguars' Antonio Johnson: Improves in year two
Johnson recorded 73 total tackles and two passes defended over 17 games in 2024.
Johnson served as the Jaguars' top reserve safety in 2024 and saw plenty of playing time, logging 684 defensive snaps and eight starts across his 17 appearances. The Texas A&M product drastically improved his tackle total from his rookie season (17 to 73); however, he recorded fewer passes defended (three to two), interceptions (two to zero) and forced fumbles (one to zero) despite the increased playing time. With Andre Cisco set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, Johnson could compete for one of Jacksonville's starting safety positions in 2025.

Johnson recorded a team-high tackle total in the victory. Sunday's performance marked the first time this season the 22-year-old has racked up double-digit tackles in a game.

Jaguars' Antonio Johnson: Nabs second INT of season in win
Johnson finished Sunday's 26-0 win over the Panthers with two solo tackles and an interception.
Johnson picked off Bryce Young late in the fourth quarter on a pass intended for Tommy Tremble and returned it 27 yards. It was Johnson's second interception of the season. He played 37 snaps on defense as the third safety behind starters Rayshawn Jenkins and Andre Cisco. Johnson has 15 tackles (11 solo), three passes defended, two interceptions and a forced fumble in 12 games in his rookie season.

Johnson (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Bills in London.
The rookie fifth-round pick out of Texas A&M will dress for the first time all season after he had been inactive for the Jaguars' first four contests due to the hamstring injury. Even though he's suiting up Sunday, Johnson is buried on the depth chart at safety and is likely to see most of his snaps on special teams.

Johnson (hamstring) will do individual work this week, according to head coach Doug Pederson, and he could return in Week 5 against Buffalo, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Johnson has yet to play this season and although he's expected to miss the team's Week 4 game against the Falcons, it sounds like he's making the trip to London and has a chance to make his NFL debut Oct. 8 against the Bills. Once healthy, the rookie is expected to fill a depth role in the team's secondary.
