Cam Smith: Gets waived by Miami
The Dolphins waived Smith (undisclosed) from their reserve/non-football illness list Tuesday.
Smith was placed on Miami's reserve/non-football illness list before the start of the regular season with an unspecified ailment, and it's still not clear where he's at in his recovery. Assuming he's not claimed by another team during the current waiver period, he's on track to become a free agent.

Dolphins' Cam Smith: Seeing action in OTAs
Smith (shoulder) has been a participant during the Dolphins' offseason training activities, Chris Perkins of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Smith missed Miami's final five games last season after landing on IR due to a shoulder injury. The South Carolina product also began the campaign on injured reserve due to a hamstring issue, so health will be a big priority for the cornerback this year. Smith worked in a rotational role and contributed on special teams when he was able to play last season, and he figures to take on a similar role in 2025.

Dolphins' Cam Smith: Struggles in Year 2
Smith (shoulder) who ended the 2024 campaign on IR, tallied just 16 tackles (13 solo) across six regular-season appearances.
Smith began the year on IR due to a hamstring injury sustained back in July, then had his season come to an early end due to a dislocated left shoulder. There's no timetable for Smith's return, though McDaniel confirmed the cornerback was in significant pain following Thursday's loss. Smith's next chance to play will come against the Jets on Sunday, Dec. 8, though it's uncertain if he'll recover in time for that matchup. If he's unable to go, then Storm Duck and Siran Neal will be candidates for increased snaps, though Kendall Fuller (concussion) will be the primary option if he gains clearance for that contest.
