Patriots' Craig Woodson: Dealing with ankle injury
Woodson did not practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury.
Woodson logged just one tackle while playing every defensive snap during the Patriots' Week 7 win over the Titans. The rookie fourth-rounder appears to have picked up an ankle injury during that game, which was severe enough for him to sit out of Wednesday's practice. Woodson will have two more opportunities to return to practice ahead of the Patriots' Week 8 home clash against the Browns on Sunday. Woodson has started in each of the first seven games of the regular season and has accumulated 21 tackles (13 solo), one pass defense and one fumble recovery.

Patriots' Craig Woodson: Strong performance in debut
Woodson logged seven tackles (five solo) Sunday during the Patriots' loss versus the Raiders.
Woodson got the start at free safety in his first career game after being selected by the Patriots in the fourth round of April's draft. The 24-year-old ended up having a solid outing in his debut as he finished second on the team in tackles and will look to build off this performance next week versus the Dolphins.

Patriots' Craig Woodson: Lands in New England
The Patriots selected Woodson in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 106th overall.
Woodson spent six years at California due to the pandemic during his sophomore year and a knee injury during his junior year. He started his final three seasons and showed an ability to work as a safety and a nickel corner before putting forth a solid combine with a 4.45 40-yard dash at 6-foot, 200 pounds. His versatility could help him move up the depth chart eventually, but he'll likely need to carve out a role on special teams first.
