Benson signed with the Chargers' practice squad Wednesday.
Benson signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in April, and he'll stick around on the practice squad after not making the 53-man roster. He could be elevated to the active roster should tight ends Will Dissly, Hayden Hurst or Stone Smartt miss time during the regular season.

Luke Benson: Let go by Bolts
The Chargers waived Benson on Tuesday.
Benson managed to catch on with the Chargers in April as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech. He spent minicamp and training camp competing for a depth tight end spot, and across three preseason outings, he caught two passes on four targets for 14 yards. Assuming he clears waivers, Benson could opt to stick around on the Chargers' practice squad or catch on with another team elsewhere.
