Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Sits out preseason finale
Stevenson (undisclosed) didn't play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Giants.
Stevenson, who has been managing an unspecified injury that isn't viewed as significant, sported a non-contact jersey in his return to practice this week, per Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald, but there's nothing to suggests that his Week 1 status is in any danger. Added clarity in that regard will arrive no later than the Patriots' first official injury/practice report, but as the coming season approaches Stevenson is set to reprise his key role in a backfield that also includes dynamic 2025 second-rounder TreVeyon Henderson, along with fellow returnee Antonio Gibson. Though Henderson remains the upside play from a fantasy standpoint and figures to cut into Stevenson's volume this season, there should be enough touches, in an offense that could lean toward the run, for both players to carry weekly fantasy lineup utility.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Practices with non-contact jersey
Stevenson (undisclosed) returned to practice Monday, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.
Stevenson, who didn't play in this past Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings, had been managing an unspecified injury that wasn't considered significant, and the running back's return to the field Monday aligns with that, though Callahan notes that Stevenson was sporting a non-contact jersey during the session. With that in mind, it's unclear if Stevenson will be available for Thursday's exhibition finale against the Giants.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Injury not viewed as significant
Coach Mike Vrabel noted Wednesday that the unspecified injury Stevenson is dealing with is not considered significant, Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston reports.
The report adds that Vrabel doesn't anticipate a long-term absence for Stevenson, but at this stage the running back appears to be trending toward missing Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings. When healthy, Stevenson and promising rookie TreVeyon Henderson are projected to form a 1-2 punch this season in a New England backfield that also includes Antonio Gibson.

Per Mark Daniels of MassLive.com, coach Mike Vrabel noted Wednesday that Stevenson is dealing with an (unspecified) injury that he sustained in this past Friday's preseason contest against the Commanders. As a result, the running back's status for Saturday's game against the Vikings is cloudy.

Stevenson also didn't practice Sunday, so it's possible that he came out of Friday's preseason win over the Commanders (a game in which he carried seven times for 36 yards) with some sort of injury. For now, consider the running back day-to-day ahead of Saturday's contest against the Vikings.

Stevenson (undisclosed) was not present at Sunday's training camp practice, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
It could be a maintenance day for the veteran running back, who played 10 snaps on offense and logged seven carries for 36 yards in the Patriots' 48-18 preseason win over the Commanders on Friday. Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson both saw all their work in the first quarter, and the duo are expected to work in a committee when the regular season gets underway.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Seven carries in preseason opener
Stevenson rushed seven times for 36 yards and wasn't targeted in Friday's 48-18 preseason win over the Commanders.
The Patriots showcased the potential breakdown in roles between Stevenson and rookie second-round pick TreVeyon Henderson on their first few drives. Stevenson handled most of the carries to keep the offense on schedule while Henderson showed off his speed in space, turning one carry and three targets into 30 offensive yards in addition to scoring a touchdown on the opening kickoff. Stevenson figures to remain a key contributor in what projects to be a run-heavy Patriots offense despite the addition of Henderson. New England's next preseason game is Aug. 16 in Minnesota.
