McMillian signed his one-year, $5.767 million restricted free agent tender Friday.
It represents a significant raise for McMillian, who made $1.03 million in 2025. The 25-year-old cornerback joined the Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and has carved out a prominent role in Denver's secondary. He appeared in all 17 regular-season games last season, making three starts, and recorded 56 tackles (40 solo), including a career-high 4.0 sacks, nine pass breakups, including two interceptions, and a pair of forced fumbles. Broncos' Ja'Quan McMillian: Set for second-round tender
The Broncos intend to place a second-round, restricted free agent tender on McMillian, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Per Klis, the nickel cornerback's looming contract tender is slated to carry a $5.77 million value. The 25-year-old ball hawk is coming off a regular season which he recorded 56 tackles, including 4.0 sacks, nine defensed passes, including two picks (one pick-six) and two forced fumbles. McMillian earned $1.03 million with the Broncos in 2025.

McMillian made 56 tackles (40 solo) including 4.0 sacks, defended nine passes with two interceptions while returning one for a touchdown, playing in all 17 regular-season games in 2025. He added two forced fumbles during the season.
McMillian continued to play a key role in Denver's defensive backfield in 2025, recording two interceptions for the second straight year, a team high this season. The 25-year-old slot cornerback was the only Broncos defender to record an interception return for a touchdown this year. McMillian is set to become a restricted free agent this offseason, so the Broncos will have the ability to match any offers he receives ahead of the 2026 season to keep him in Denver. With rookie Jahdae Barron showing some flashes in his rookie season, the Broncos could have a difficult decision to make on McMillian this offseason.

Broncos' Ja'Quan McMillian: Huge performance in Week 11 win
McMillian logged six tackles (five solo), including 2.0 sacks, and intercepted a pass in Sunday's 22-19 win over the Chiefs.
McMillian was a menace to Kansas City throughout the contest and made a tangible impact in Denver's win. He ended the first half with a sack of Patrick Mahomes, then picked off Mahomes early in the third quarter after the Chiefs had driven deep into Broncos territory. McMillian returned the pickoff 63 yards, setting up a Denver touchdown. For good measure, he sacked Mahomes again on a third-down play late in the fourth period, forcing a punt as the Chiefs were trying to mount a comeback. With the big effort, McMillian doubled his sack total to 4.0 on the campaign, while the pickoff was his first this season.

Broncos' Ja'Quan McMillian: Strong defensive day in win
McMillian recorded two tackles (one solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one forced fumble in Denver's win over Tennessee on Sunday.
McMillian played 54 percent of the defensive snaps against the Titans, and 30 of his 31 snaps came at slot corner. After the game, Coach Sean Payton sang McMillian's praises after he recorded a strip-sack of Cam Ward on the Titans' final offensive play in the fourth quarter with 47 second left to clinch the Broncos' 20-12 victory.
