Commanders' Drake Jackson: Sent to IR
The Commanders placed Jackson (foot) on injured reserve Thursday.
Jackson inked a deal with Washington on Wednesday but apparently still needs more time to recover from the serious knee injury that forced him to miss all of the 2024 campaign and half of 2023. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that this was always the Commanders' plan, and that the team intends for Jackson to get healthy and provide a late-season boost.

The Commanders signed Jackson to a contract Wednesday.
Jackson has been fully cleared from the serious knee injury that forced him to miss all of 2024 and half of the 2023 campaign, and he's now set to handle a reserve role on defense for Washington. The 2022 second-round pick's first opportunity to debut for his new team will come Sunday on the road against the Cowboys.

Drake Jackson: Ready to be signed
Jackson has been cleared from his knee injury and has visits scheduled with the Commanders, Jets and Ravens next week, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Jackson missed half of the 2023 season and all of the 2024 campaign with a serious knee injury, but it now appears he could be ready to get back on the field for a willing suitor. He's appeared in just 23 games since being selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the 49ers.

Drake Jackson: Dropped by San Francisco
Jackson (knee) was waived with a failed physical designation Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The 2022 second-round pick from USC is still rehabbing from the knee injury that caused him to miss the final 12 games of 2023 (including the playoffs) and all of 2024. Jackson has appeared in just 23 regular-season contests since being drafted, recording 21 total tackles, including 6.0 sacks, and nine passes defended across 490 defensive snaps. Once he proves he's past this knee injury, Jackson could offer defensive-line depth to a team in need of edge rushers.

49ers' Drake Jackson: Moved to reserve/PUP list
The 49ers placed Jackson on the reserve/PUP list with a knee injury Thursday and is expected to miss the 2024 season, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Jackson missed the final 12 games of last season, including playoffs, due to a knee injury. The 2022 second-round pick out of USC opened training camp on the active/PUP list, and his move to the reserve/PUP list is expected to result in a season-long absence, per Yates. Jackson played in 23 regular-season games over the last two campaigns, accumulating 21 tackles (12 solo), including 6.0 sacks, along with nine passes defended and one interception.

49ers' Drake Jackson: Likely missing all of camp
Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Monday that Jackson (knee) isn't expected to return during training camp, Lindsey Pallares of the 49ers' official site reports.
Jackson was moved to the active/PUP list last week after missing the final 12 games of the 49ers' 2023 campaign due to a knee issue. There's no timetable on Jackson's return, but it appears that he's definitely still hindered by his injury. Once the 23-year-old gets back on the field, he's expected to compete for a depth role on San Francisco's defensive line.

49ers' Drake Jackson: Opens camp on PUP
The 49ers placed Jackson (knee) on the active/PUP list Tuesday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Jackson missed the final 12 games of last season, including the playoffs. The nature of his injury isn't exactly known, but he evidently isn't yet 100 percent. The 61st overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, Jackson should get every chance to carve out a prominent role off the edge behind Nick Bosa, Leonard Floyd and Yetur Gross-Matos this season.

Jackson (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
