Jaguars' Kevin Harris: Signs with Jaguars
The Jaguars signed Harris on Tuesday.
Harris is headed to Jacksonville after having last played with Patriots in 2023, where he carried the ball 16 times for 65 yards and a touchdown in addition to catching three passes for 58 yards. The 24-year-old will face an uphill battle to earn a spot on the team's final roster as they already have a crowded backfield, and he could be a candidate to land on their practice squad.

Kevin Harris: Sticks around in New England
Harris signed with the Patriots' practice squad Wednesday, Mark Daniels of MassLive.com reports.
There was no room for Harris on the Pats' 53-man roster after he lost out to JaMycal Hasty for the No. 3 running back job behind Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson. Harris has played in nine regular-season games for the Patriots since being selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and during that span he rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries. Harris will stay in New England and be ready for a potential promotion to the active roster during the upcoming season.

Kevin Harris: Set to be cut by New England
The Patriots plan to waive Harris, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports.
As the coming season approaches, Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson top the Patriots' RB depth chart, with JaMycal Hasty also in the mix. For now, Harris is the odd man out, but he could resurface on the team's practice squad, assuming he clears waivers.

Patriots' Kevin Harris: Projected No. 3 RB
Harris carried eight times for 22 yards and a TD and caught one of his three targets for six yards in Thursday's 17-3 preseason win over the Panthers.
In his latest 53-man roster projection, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site predicts that Harris will stick as the team's No. 3 running back to begin the coming season behind Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson. Per Lazar, Harris -- a 2022 sixth-rounder -- "won't 'wow' you with elusiveness or pass-catching ability, but he runs hard between the tackles and has displayed better vision working off zone blocks." Also competing for depth slotting in New England's backfield are JaMycal Hasty and Terrell Jennings, and one or both could potentially end up on the practice squad following cut-downs.

Harris spent the bulk of his second year as a pro on the Patriots' practice squad, but he ended up working in a complementary role for the team down the stretch behind Ezekiel Elliott due to Rhamondre Stevenson being sidelined by an ankle injury. The 2022 sixth-rounder remains under contract with New England through the 2024 campaign, per Evan Lazar of the team's official site, and Harris thus will have an opportunity to carve out a role next season as an early-down power back option behind Stevenson. Whether such a gig translates into fantasy relevance hinges on where Harris lands on the depth chart in the wake of the Patriots' looming offseason moves in free agency and the draft.

Patriots' Kevin Harris: Makes impact as receiver
Harris carried the ball twice for 15 yards and caught both his targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 27-21 loss to the Bills.
The 2022 sixth-round pick helped set up a Bailey Zappe rushing TD in the second quarter with a 48-yard catch and run that got the Patriots into the red zone. Harris has seen his first significant stretch of NFL action over the last three games while Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) has been sidelined, and Sunday's catches were the first of his career. Over those three games, Harris has picked up 115 scrimmage yards and a rushing TD on 15 touches while backing up Ezekiel Elliott, a role he should fill again in Week 18 against the Jets.

Seeing his first touches of the season while Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) remained sidelined, Harris plowed up the middle and broke free for a 16-yard TD in the fourth quarter for the final points of the game. His 25 rushing yards also tied Ezekiel Elliott for the team lead, as the Patriots' running game couldn't get much going until it was too late. Stevenson could return in Week 16, but if he misses a third straight game, Harris' performance Sunday might earn him a bigger role against a vulnerable Broncos run defense.

The Patriots elevated Harris from their practice squad to their active roster Saturday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Harris has been elevated for the second straight week due to Rhamondre Stevenson's ankle injury. Harris didn't get any snaps last week against Pittsburgh but could get an opportunity Sunday against Kansas City since Stevenson is out again and Ty Montgomery was waived by New England last Friday.
