Titans' Tyjae Spears: Loses efficiency as runner
Spears recorded seven rushes for 26 yards in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Chargers. He added three receptions on three targets for 36 yards.
Spears was only out-touched 13-12 by Tony Pollard, with Spears being the primary pass catcher. His most notable contribution was a 26-yard catch that set up a game-tying field goal late in the second quarter. That made up for Spears' lack of efficiency on the ground, as he was held to less than 4.0 yards per carry for the first time since his season debut in Week 5. Positively, Spears has at least three catches in four straight games while also seeing an uptick in his usage as a ball carrier.

Titans' Tyjae Spears: Hits pay dirt Sunday
Spears rushed nine times for 59 yards and a touchdown while catching all three of his targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 38-14 loss to Indianapolis.
Tony Pollard led Tennessee with 11 carries, but Spears outproduced the veteran starter in every other facet Sunday. The nine carries also represented a new personal best through four healthy appearances this season. The 1-7 Titans may opt to feature the 24-year-old more prominently in the second half of the season if the team offense continues to struggle. As for Week 9, Spears remains stuck in a timeshare with Pollard, limiting both players' value to deeper formats against the Chargers next Sunday.

Titans' Tyjae Spears: Records 40 yards from scrimmage
Spears rushed the ball five times for 22 yards in Sunday's 31-13 loss to the Patriots. He added three receptions (on four targets) for 18 yards.
The Titans attempted only 12 rushes in the game, with Spears splitting the workload almost exactly evenly with Tony Pollard. More surprising was that Pollard out-produced him as a pass catcher, a role that Spears had seemingly taken over since his return to the field. While he's added an element to the Tennessee offense, the unit is poor enough that Spears won't be able to sustain fantasy value so long as he's in a timeshare with Pollard.

Titans' Tyjae Spears: Gains 50 yards on nine touches
Spears rushed five times for 31 yards and caught all four of his targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Raiders.
Spears more than doubled his total touches in his second game back from an ankle injury. Tony Pollard (10-34-0) still spearheaded the Titans' backfield, but the gap in touch distribution inched even closer Sunday. The speedy backup will continue vying for more snaps against the Patriots next Sunday.

Titans' Tyjae Spears: Cleared to face Vegas
Spears (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Spears upgraded to full participation in Friday's practice after a pair of limited sessions. After handling just four carries for 14 yards in his Week 5 season debut against the Cardinals, Spears will look to take on a larger role Sunday as the complementary option to Tony Pollard in Tennessee's backfield.

Titans' Tyjae Spears: Another limited practice
Spears (ankle) remained limited at practice Thursday.
Spears also was limited Wednesday, so the running back likely will need to practice fully Friday in order to approach Sunday's game against the Raiders without an injury designation. In his return from IR in Week 5, he recorded a 25 percent snap share in his team's 22-21 win over the Cardinals en route to carrying four times for 14 yards while working behind fellow RB Tony Pollard.
