49ers' Tatum Bethune: Ruled out for Week 12
Bethune (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against Carolina, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Bethune took over as the 49ers' starting middle linebacker in Week 7 after Fred Warner sustained a season-ending ankle injury against the Buccaneers in Week 6. However, Bethune suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Cardinals in Week 11, and the second-year linebacker will miss his first game of the regular season as a result. In his absence, Curtis Robinson will step up as the starting middle linebacker for Monday's game. Bethune will look to return to practice in at least a limited capacity ahead of the 49ers' Week 13 clash against the Browns.

49ers' Tatum Bethune: Misses practice Thursday
Bethune (ankle) did not participate at practice Thursday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Bethune sustained a right high-ankle sprain in the team's 41-22 victory over Arizona in Week 11, so his inability to practice to open the week comes as no surprise. The linebacker is fighting an uphill battle to play in Week 12, and he'll have two more chances to return to practice prior to Monday night's matchup with Carolina.

49ers' Tatum Bethune: Diagnosed with high-ankle sprain
San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Bethune suffered a right high-ankle sprain in Sunday's 41-22 win over the Cardinals and is expected to miss multiple weeks, David Lombardi of SFStandard.com reports.
Shanahan said that Curtis Robinson will be the next man up at middle linebacker for the 49ers, who are already without Fred Warner (ankle) for the rest of the season. Bethune had recorded double-digit tackles in five straight games prior to being injured in the first half versus Arizona. Though the 24-year-old linebacker looked poised to miss multiple games, Shanahan said that Bethune is expected to avoid a stint on injured reserve.

49ers' Tatum Bethune: Exits with ankle injury
Bethune (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's contest against the Cardinals, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Bethune suffered an ankle injury in the first half of the contest, and his status is now up in the air for the rest of the day. In his absence, Nick Martin and Curtis Robinson are top candidates to see an increase in workload at linebacker.

49ers' Tatum Bethune: Double-digit stops again
Bethune recorded 10 tackles (two solo), including one tackle for loss, in Sunday's 42-26 loss to the Rams.
Bethune was questionable for Sunday's game due to a thigh injury, but he managed to play 96 percent of defensive snaps. He also logged double-digit tackles for the fifth straight game. Bethune should continue to be a very valuable IDP option with Fred Warner (ankle) out for the season.

49ers' Tatum Bethune: Good to go against LAR
Bethune (thigh) is active for Sunday's game against the Rams, Briana Jeannel of the 49ers' official site reports.
Bethune was limited in practice all week due to a thigh injury, but the second-year pro has been cleared to play Sunday after going through pregame warmups. He has started in the 49ers' last three games in the absence of Fred Warner (ankle), with Bethune accumulating 40 tackles (16 solo) and a pass defense over that span.

49ers' Tatum Bethune: Tagged as questionable Week 10
Bethune (thigh) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Bethune's practice reps were limited all week while working through a thigh injury, and his status for Sunday's NFC West clash is up in the air. The second-year linebacker has taken on a larger workload on defense after Fred Warner suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 6, so Bethune's absence would mean a substantial boost in defensive snaps would go to Curtis Robinson or rookie third-rounder Nick Martin. Bethune has accumulated 50 tackles (21 solo) and one pass defense over his last four games.

49ers' Tatum Bethune: Limited again
Bethune (thigh) was a limited participant in practice for the second day in a row Thursday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
The middle linebacker's status remains unclear ahead of Sunday's divisional matchup with the Rams. Bethune has taken over the starting role in the wake of Fred Warner's season-ending ankle injury in Week 6, playing every defensive snap in each of the last two games and making 10 or more stops in each of the last four contests.

49ers' Tatum Bethune: Nursing thigh injury
Bethune was limited in Wednesday's practice due to a thigh injury, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Bethune recorded a career-high 16 combined tackles during the 49ers' Week 9 win over the Giants while playing every single defensive snap, but he appears to have come out of that contest with a thigh injury. He had his practice snaps limited Wednesday, and he'll have two more opportunities to practice fully and avoid an injury designation heading into Sunday's NFC West clash against the Rams. Bethune has logged 40 tackles (16 solo) and one pass defense in the last three games that he's started, which coincided with Fred Warner's season-ending ankle injury that he sustained against the Buccaneers in Week 6.

Bethune recorded 16 total tackles (eight solo) and a pass defensed in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Giants.
Bethune was able to continue building off of his recent momentum, securing a career-high 16 stops in Week 9. The middle linebacker has now registered an impressive 50 total tackles (21 solo) since replacing Fred Warner (ankle) as the team's starter early in Week 6 versus Tampa Bay. Bethune will look to keep up his high level of production in Week 10 against the Rams.

49ers' Tatum Bethune: Logs double-digit stops again
Bethune made 14 tackles (four solo) during Sunday's loss to the Texans.
Bethune has now put together three consecutive games with double-digit stops, emerging as San Francisco's most productive linebacker for fantasy purposes in the wake of Fred Warner (ankle) going down for the year. The second-year pro figures to remain busy in Week 9 on the road against a Giants offense that's already lost top playmakers Malik Nabers (knee - ACL) and Cam Skattebo (ankle).

49ers' Tatum Bethune: Another big performance
Bethune recorded 10 tackles (four solo), including one tackle for loss, in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Falcons.
Bethune remained the 49ers' most productive linebacker with Fred Warner (IR, ankle) sidelined. He's logged at least an 85 percent defensive snap rate in each of the last two games, racking up 10 tackles in each. Bethune should remain a strong IDP option so long as Warner is sidelined.

49ers' Tatum Bethune: Impresses in larger role
Bethune recorded 10 total tackles (five solo) during Sunday's 30-19 loss to the Buccaneers.
The second-year pro from Florida State had played just three defensive snaps all season prior to Fred Warner's (ankle) injury in the first quarter of Sunday's loss. Bethune made the most of his opportunity, finishing with a career-high and team-leading 10 total tackles across 42 defensive snaps in Week 6. With Warner expected to miss substantial time, Bethune is likely to step in as the 49ers' starting middle linebacker for the remainder of the season.

The 2024 seventh-rounder was cleared to play after going through pregame warmups and played 36 snaps (30 on defense, six on special teams). 49ers' Tatum Bethune: Dealing with ankle injury
Bethune suffered an ankle injury in Saturday's 30-9 preseason loss to the Broncos, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Bethune secured six total tackles (five solo) in the contest, but he appears to have left the game a little worse for wear. Head coach Kyle Shanahan mentioned that the linebacker could return to action Saturday versus the Raiders, which seems to suggest that the injury is minor. Bethune can be considered day-to-day for the time being.

49ers' Tatum Bethune: Activated Monday
Bethune (knee) was activated from the injured reserve list Monday.
The rookie linebacker from Florida State had missed San Francisco's last five games due to a knee injury. He was designated to return from IR on Friday and has now been added to the 49ers' active roster after practicing in full throughout the week. Bethune is likely to return to the field for San Francisco's Week 17 matchup against the Lions; however, he's remains listed as questionable for Monday night's game, so it's possible he could miss one more contest.

Bethune (knee) is active ahead of Monday night's matchup against the Lions, Lindsey Pallares of the 49ers' official site reports.
Bethune was added back to the 49ers' active roster earlier Monday after missing the team's last five contests due to a knee injury, so it's no surprise he'll return to the field in Week 17. With the 2024 seventh-round pick from Florida State active, he's likely to serve as a depth piece in San Francisco's linebacker corps Monday night.
