Bills' Cam Lewis: Not playing Sunday
Lewis (calf) isn't suiting up for Sunday's preseason game against the Bears, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.
Lewis appears to have picked up an apparent calf injury during training camp and he will now be forced to miss Buffalo's second preseason contest. The safety will look to return to the field for Saturday's preseason finale in Tampa Bay.

Bills' Cam Lewis: Has career-best season
Lewis recorded 68 tackles (47 solo) and four passes defensed, including an interception, over 17 regular-season games in 2024.
After not reaching 150 defensive snaps in any of his first four seasons as a pro, Lewis was on the field for 569 defensive snaps in 2024. This was due in large part to injuries to other Buffalo defensive backs, most notably a four-game absence from regular starting slot cornerback Taron Johnson early in the season. Lewis is slated to return to the Bills in 2025, and the team may need to shake up its corner rotation if Rasul Douglas leaves in free agency.

Bills' Cam Lewis: Sees increased snaps sans Johnson
Lewis finished Sunday's 34-28 win over the Cardinals with 10 tackles (seven solo).
Lewis saw increased action at nickel corner after Taron Johnson left in the first quarter of Sunday's game due to a forearm injury. Lewis took advantage of the extra playing time, and he finished second on the Bills in both combined and solo tackles behind linebacker Terrel Bernard. Johnson has already been ruled out for Week 2 against the Dolphins on Thursday, and Lewis will likely serve as the Bills' nickel corner for that contest.

Bills' Cam Lewis: Inks new deal
Lewis re-signed with the Bills on a two-year contract Monday.
Lewis will remain in Buffalo after a 2023 campaign that saw him play a career-high 134 snaps on defense and 319 special-teams snaps in 17 regular-season contests. The 26-year-old will likely maintain a limited role on defense in 2024, but he'll work to carve out a larger role there during the team's offseason programs.

Bills' Cam Lewis: Active Sunday
Lewis (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
The cornerback carried a questionable tag into Sunday. Lewis was active last Sunday versus the Giants but did not see any defensive snaps. The fifth-year depth player has six tackles in six games this season.

Bills' Cam Lewis: Questionable for divisional matchup
Lewis is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at New England due to a shoulder issue, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports.
Lewis is normally a depth piece on defense, not exceeding 14 percent of the defensive snaps in any game this season, but the Bills have been working with a thin secondary ever since Tre'Davious White was lost for the season with a torn Achilles, so every healthy body matters.

Bills' Cam Lewis: Day-to-day with stinger
Coach Sean McDermott said Monday that Lewis is day-to-day with a stinger, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Lewis did not play any defensive snaps Sunday versus the Giants, and that he's dealing with some pain might help to explain why. He'll get a few chances to show improvement over the week at practice before Buffalo's game at New England in Week 7.

Bills' Cam Lewis: Back to full health
Lewis (groin) played 16 total snaps in Saturday's preseason contest against the Steelers.
Lewis was dealing with the injury earlier in camp, which kept him out of the team's first preseason contest. However, the 26-year-old appears to be fully recovered, as he works to earn a spot on the Bills' 53-man roster.

Bills' Cam Lewis: Sidelined Saturday
Lewis (groin) is not suited up for Saturday's preseason matchup with the Colts, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports.
Lewis has been sidelined since Wednesday's practice after suffering a groin injury. He is competing for a role in the Bills' secondary against a crowded room, so a return to action sooner than later will be beneficial for his chances.

Bills' Cam Lewis: Misses Wednesday's session
Lewis missed Wednesday's practice due to a groin injury, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports.
The Bills are running deep in the secondary after some offseason additions, so Lewis can't afford to be out for any length of time if he hopes to secure a roster spot. Consider him a question mark for Saturday's preseason opener against the Colts.

Bills' Cam Lewis: Inks new deal with Buffalo
The Bills re-signed Lewis to a one-year contract Monday.
Lewis is now slated to remain in Buffalo through at least the 2023 season following Monday's agreement. The 25-year-old has primarily operated as a depth piece within the Bills' secondary over the previous three campaigns, though he posted a career-high 21 tackles across 15 appearances last year.
