Rams' Duke Shelley: Gets activated from IR
The Rams activated Shelley from their injured reserve list Wednesday.
The move means Shelley should be available to suit up for Sunday's game at Detroit. Over 11 games this season, he played primarily on special teams, logging just 73 total defensive snaps.

Rams' Duke Shelley: Gets green light to practice
The Rams designated Shelley (hamstring) for return from injured reserve Wednesday.
The transaction starts the clock on a 21-day period during which the Rams can evaluate Shelley before they would have to add him to the 53-man roster or keep him on IR for the rest of the season. Shelley recorded eight tackles and two pass breakups over 11 appearances before landing on IR on Nov. 27.

Rams' Duke Shelley: Moves to IR
The Rams placed Shelley (hamstring) on injured reserve Monday.
Shelley hurt his hamstring during Sunday's Week 12 win over the Cardinals and will now miss at least Los Angeles' next four games. The veteran cornerback logged 47 defensive snaps Week 9 against Green Bay but has otherwise worked primarily on special teams throughout the campaign. On the season, Shelley has accumulated eight tackles (seven solo), two pass deflections and a recovered fumble over 11 games.

Rams' Duke Shelley: Leaves game with injury
Shelley is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Cardinals after sustaining a hamstring injury, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Shelley has mostly contributed on special teams this season while also playing a backup corner role behind starters Ahkello Witherspoon and Cobie Durant. Shelley did not record a stat before exiting Sunday's contest, and while he's on the sidelines, Tre Tomlinson is a candidate to see increased work on special teams and in the secondary.

Rams' Duke Shelley: Headed to Los Angeles
Shelley signed with the Rams on Friday, Stu Jackson of the team's official site reports.
Shelley will join the Rams after spending the offseason with the Raiders. The 26-year-old appeared in 11 games for the Vikings last season and logged 31 tackles (23 solo) and an interception and could provide solid depth to a secondary that lacks proven talent.

Raiders' Duke Shelley: Signs with Raiders
The Raiders agreed to terms with Shelley on Thursday.
The 2019 sixth-rounder is coming off a 2022 campaign with the Vikings in which he recorded 31 tackles and an interception in 11 games. With Las Vegas, Shelley has a chance to earn steady snaps in a cornerback corps that also includes David Long, Nate Hobbs, Brandon Facyson, Amik Robertson and Sam Webb.

Vikings' Duke Shelley: Starting role down the stretch
Shelley posted 31 tackles (23 solo) and an interception over 11 games during the 2022 regular season.
Shelley opened his first campaign with Minnesota in a limited role on special teams, and he did not even appear in six of the first eight games. However, he stepped up into a starting role with cornerback Cameron Dantzler (ankle) sitting out all but two of the team's final nine regular-season games. In the process, Shelley logged a career-high eight passes defended over that span, including the first pick of his career in Week 18 against Chicago. He also posted six more tackles and another pass defended while playing every defensive snap in the Vikings' wild-card loss to the Giants. Shelley is now set to become an unrestricted free agent for the second year in a row.

Vikings' Duke Shelley: Starting Saturday
Shelley is in line to start at cornerback opposite Patrick Peterson in Saturday's matchup with the Giants, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Shelley is getting the start in place of Cameron Dantzler (ankle). As a result, he will presumably see a bigger snap count than usual. Also, Kalon Barnes, Chandon Sullivan and Kris Boyd could see some extra snaps providing depth in the secondary.

Vikings' Duke Shelley: Has key pass breakup
Shelley played three snaps on defense in Sunday's win over Buffalo but had a key pass breakup in the end zone on the final series in overtime.
Shelly was pressed into action when Akayleb Evans left with a concussion. It's a side note to a wild game, but the little-used Shelley likely saved the game by breaking up a touchdown pass intended for Dawson Knox. He could have a larger role next week if Evans is out.

Duke Shelley: Waived by Chicago
The Bears waived Shelley on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Shelley made the initial 53-man roster but was let go one day later following a plethora of waiver claims. The 2019 sixth-round pick saw an expanded role in each of his first three seasons with the Bears and registered career highs in tackles (37), pass defenses (three) and defensive snaps (385) in 2021.

Shelley saw his snaps increase in each of his three years with the Bears. However, the team brought in Gordon and Young in the offseason, making it possible Shelley is left off the regular-season roster.

Shelley missed six of the final seven games of 2021 due to the heel injury, but he's back on the field for OTAs in Chicago. The 25-year-old is a favorite to start at cornerback after posting a career-high 37 tackles and three passes defensed last season, though he's still looking for his first career interception.
