Los Angeles signed McLachlan to the practice squad Thursday.
McLachlan worked out with the Chargers on Tuesday and now gets an opportunity with the team. He's fully recovered from the back issue that caused him to be waived from IR by the Bengals early September. In 2024, McLachlan appeared in two regular-season games with Cincinnati but wasn't targeted.

Tanner McLachlan: Works out with Chargers
McLachlan (undisclosed) was hosted by the Chargers for a workout Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
McLachlan was let go by the Bengals in early September after reaching an injury settlement with the team. The tight end now appears to be back to full health, and he'll look to latch on with a team for the stretch run of the season.

Tanner McLachlan: Waived from IR
McLachlan (undisclosed) was waived from injured reserve Friday by the Bengals, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
McLachlan -- who was let go with an injury settlement -- suited up for just two games as a rookie last season. The nature and severity of his injury have yet to be clarified, but this move opens up the possibility of McLachlan suiting up this season, once he's healthy.

McLachlan wasn't claimed after being waived with an injury designation Tuesday, so he'll spend the 2025 season on IR. He appeared in two regular-season games for Cincinnati in 2024.
