  • Packers' Quay Walker: Slowly working through ankle injury

Walker (ankle) was a limited participant in Tuesday's training camp practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Walker had a brief stint on the PUP list due to an ankle injury. He was cleared in late July and has been a limited participant in practices, but he took a step in the right direction by participating in 11-on-11 drills during Tuesday's session. Walker could be held out of Saturday's preseason opener against the Jets to avoid aggravating the injury, but the 2022 first-rounder could see some snaps in the Packers' other exhibition games.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Passes physical, off PUP list

Walker (undisclosed) passed a physical and was activated from the active/PUP list Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Walker spent five days on the active/PUP list before getting the all-clear to practice, which may come to pass as soon as Thursday. After the Packers opted not to pick up the fifth-year option on his rookie contract back in May, the 2022 first-round pick is set to play out the final year of that deal in 2025, when he'll be seeking his fourth 100-tackle campaign in as many seasons as a pro. The emergence of 2024 second-round, off-ball linebacker Edgerrin Cooper could hinder that effort, however.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Placed on active/PUP list

The Packers placed Walker (undisclosed) on the active/PUP list Friday, Zach Jacobson of 247Sports.com reports.

Despite racking up at least 100 tackles in each of his first three seasons as a pro, the 2022 first-round pick didn't have the fifth-year option on his rookie contract picked up by Green Bay this spring, meaning he's set to play out the 2025 campaign on an expiring deal. He'll also be contending with second-year pro Edgerrin Cooper at off-ball linebacker after the latter capped his rookie year with standout play down the stretch, featuring 42 tackles, including 1.0 sack, and one interception in five games between Week 15 and a wild-card loss at Philadelphia. Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reported Friday that Walker dealt with an injury during the offseason program, but once he proves his health, he'll be able to practice at any point during training camp, which officially kicks off for Packers veterans this coming Tuesday.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Fifth-year option declined by team

Walker had his fifth-year option declined by the Packers on Thursday, though the team still wants to work out an extension, Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports.

The 2022 first-round pick has recorded 121 (75 solo), 118 (59 solo) and 102 (72 solo) tackles across his three pro regular seasons, respectively, leading Green Bay in the category each year. Walker did miss seven combined games due to injuries the last two seasons, including three with an ankle issue and one with a concussion in 2024. Despite those injuries, Packers GM Brian Gutekunst called Walker "really impactful," "a great leader" and a player the team "would love to have" around "for longer than just a couple years," per Demovsky.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Extends 100-tackle streak

Walker played in 13 regular-season games in 2024 and finished with 102 tackles (72 solo), including 2.5 sacks, and two pass defenses.

Walker missed the final three games of the regular season due to an ankle injury, but he was able to play in Green Bay's NFC wild-card loss to Philadelphia and finished with eight tackles (four solo) while playing 54 defensive snaps. Despite missing four regular-season games, Walker managed to reach the tackling century mark for the third straight season and led the Packers in that category in 2024. Walker could be tasked with more defensive responsibilities in 2025 if Isaiah McDuffie decides to take his talents elsewhere in free agency.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Good to go against Philadelphia

Walker (ankle) is active for Sunday's NFC wild-card game against the Eagles, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.

Walker missed the Packers' final three games of the regular season due to an ankle injury. He was a limited participant in practice all week, and the 2022 first-round pick has progressed enough in his recovery to play in the Packers' playoff opener. Walker will start alongside Edgerrin Cooper and Isaiah McDuffie while Eric Wilson and Ty'Ron Hopper provide rotational depth at linebacker.
