Eagles' Ben VanSumeren: Returns to practice Monday
VanSumeren (ankle) returned to practice Monday, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
VanSumeren didn't practice the previous Friday due to an ankle injury but is back in there Monday. He is transitioning to fullback after playing primarily on special teams and at linebacker in his previous two seasons with the Eagles.

Eagles' Ben VanSumeren: Dealing with ankle injury
VanSumeren (ankle) did not practice Friday, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The 25-year-old linebacker has appeared in 20 regular-season games for the Eagles over the last two seasons, recording 16 tackles (seven solo) while primarily focusing on special teams.

Eagles' Ben VanSumeren: Returning to Philadelphia
The Eagles re-signed VanSumeren (knee) to a one-year deal Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
VanSumeren was a key special-teamer for Philadelphia in 2024 before sustaining a season-ending knee injury following a Week 12 win over the Rams. He made 11 appearances and recorded three total tackles (all solo) while playing 209 special-teams snaps. After re-signing with the Eagles, VanSumeren -- who will presumably be past his knee issue when the team takes the field again -- is expected to play a similar role in 2025.

Eagles' Ben VanSumeren: Lands on IR due to knee injury
The Eagles placed VanSumeren (knee) on injured reserve Saturday.
VanSumeren likely injured his knee during practice this week after popping up on Friday's injury report as a limited practice participant. The injury is severe enough to warrant a stint for him on injured reserve, which means VanSumeren will be forced to miss at least the next four regular-season games, making Week 17 against the Cowboys on Sunday, Dec. 29 the earliest he can return.

VanSumeren (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Baltimore.
VanSumeren popped up on Friday's injury report as a limited practice participant due to a knee injury, and it appears severe enough that he won't play Sunday. His next chance to play will be Week 14 against Carolina on Sunday, Dec. 8.

Eagles' Ben VanSumeren: Clears concussion protocol
VanSumeren (concussion) has been cleared to play in Sunday's Week 10 battle against Dallas, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
VanSumeren suffered a concussion in the first half of last Sunday's tilt against the Jaguars and didn't return to the game. However, he's been able to clear the league's five-step concussion protocol and will be able to suit up Sunday. VanSumeren has played exclusively on special teams this season and will likely continue in that role against the Cowboys.
