Messiah Swinson: Joins 49ers' practice squad
Swinson was signed to the 49ers' practice squad Wednesday.
Swinson was let go by the Packers in late August after reeling in one pass for four yards while appearing in one preseason game with the team. The 25-year-old will provide San Francisco with another option at tight end while George Kittle (hamstring) is on injured reserve.

Packers' Messiah Swinson: Remaining in Green Bay
Swinson signed a reserve/future contract with the Packers on Monday.
Swinson spent most of September on the Panthers' active roster after being signed off the Packers' practice squad Sept. 3. He was a healthy scratch for Carolina's first two regular-season games before being waived Sept. 24, and after clearing waivers, he opted to rejoin Green Bay on the practice squad two days later. Swinson will stay with the Packers during the offseason, where he will have the opportunity to participate in OTAs and minicamp ahead of training camp in July.

Swinson signed with the Packers' practice squad Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Swinson spent training camp with Green Bay and was on the Packers' practice squad before being signed away to the Panthers' active roster ahead of Week 1. However, the Arizona State product never suited up for Carolina and was waived by the team Tuesday. He'll now get another chance with the Packers.

Swinson is a healthy inactive for a second straight week, and his next chance to suit up will be Week 3 against Las Vegas. The Panthers elevated tight end Feleipe Franks from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, and for Sunday's contest, he will be the fourth tight end behind Tommy Tremble, Ja'Tavion Sanders and Jordan Matthews.

Panthers' Messiah Swinson: Picked up by Carolina
The Panthers signed Swinson off Green Bay's practice squad Tuesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
The 24-year-old tight end joined the Packers' practice squad after failing to make the team's initial 53-man roster, but he's now found a new home in Carolina. Swinson adds depth to a Carolina tight end room that's banged up heading into the Panthers' Week 1 contest against the Saints, as both Ian Thomas (calf) and Tommy Tremble (hamstring) are dealing with injuries.

Swinson failed to record a reception on 28 offensive snaps this preseason, but he's landed with Green Bay's practice squad after missing the team's initial 53-man roster Tuesday. The Arizona State product's most productive collegiate season came in 2022, when he recorded 15 receptions for 185 yards and two touchdowns.
